looking for a 4th gen 4x4 4runner with less than 120,ooo miles in good condition.. im ready to purchase. im in mesa but will travel for the right deal.

Good luck trying to find one for that price with under 120k , I looked for a while and only found 1 for around that price and it had 200k , I settled on a 3rd gen with some extra money for upgrades

I've been looking around for a 4x4 in az for months with decent mileage but getting down to 10k has been a challenge. Where have you found the most success in your searching

Just bought an 03 V8 SR5 4x4 with 118,000 for about $8500 private sale. The deals are out there but you gotta be patient. I looked at about 10 POS 4runners that were priced higher before finding this one. It was owned by a realtor so he kept it really clean and had all the service records. Just be patient and don't settle bc there were some really nasty ones out there and were not priced less.

ya ive been searchin for a bout a month and a half now.. i went and saw one this past weekend.. he wanted 13 for it.. engine was filthy disgusting, had been repainted in areas.. so i definately passed..

THey going for 11-13 around here but I got a deal bc the guy wanted it sold asap bc he was ready to buy a new car. I got lucky I think. Dealerships around here were not dropping below 12K.

Check CarMax. A little more cash but a good bang for your buck. I bought my 03 SR5 V8 for $15,748 with 55,777 miles in October 2011.

Hi there,

I recently purchased a 2005 T4R Limited 4.7L V8 for a relatively low price. It needs a big update on its service (nothing wrong mechanically, but just needs to be maintained). It has 112k miles on it, so I will be doing the full timing belt/water pump/thermostat etc. As well as transmission and transfer case service. I plan to seafoam it, change the oil, and I bought the spark plugs and a new K&N air filter which will go in immediately. There are a couple smaller things as well. I purchased it for very cheap and the total that I should be spending on it to get it bullet proof should be an extra $2500.

Anyway, I bought it partly to flip it. So if anybody is interested please let me know. I'm looking to get about $12,500. Otherwise I'd rather keep it. I'd also be willing to sell it for much cheaper before getting the service done. If you are somebody who can do all the service above and save on dealership fees, then you could get a screaming deal. If you want it as is, I'd be willing to sell at $9,750.

Again, I'm torn because I want to keep it. But I don't think I can pass up the opportunity to actually make money on it, and put it toward an older 4Runner!

I completely agree. I happened upon this thread and thought I'd chime in. I'm sorry if it seemed a bit sketchy, I would never ask any body to pay for anything until they physically saw the car and test drove it for themselves and were completely satisfied with the history. I have some really shitty pictures on my phone that I could post if somebody wanted to see them, or I could borrow a really nice camera from my father this weekend and post them soon. I am not looking to get rid of it immediately or anything, I just figured I'd post and see what kind of interest there would be in it.

If there are any questions you have I'd be happy to answer them! I will write up a full ad with pictures, VIN, title etc sometime in the next week or so. I have an appointment with a dealer next Wednesday, and I was going to get all the service done on it before I listed it. But seeing this ad I thought I'd see if there was interest in buying it before all the service I listed above (as I know there are some on this forum who could do it much cheaper). If there is, I can get the ad done before I take it into the dealer.

I hope I'm explaining this correctly and clearly. I understand why somebody would think this is a bit sketch, and I'm not asking anybody to trust me. I'm just seeing what kind of interest there would be. Thanks for the input.

EDIT: I'll go ahead and post the pictures from my phone, just to see if there's interest. I will get better pics when I do a full ad, as I've said. One of the pictures shows some streaking in the paint on the passenger front door. I got most of it out with just water and microfiber, but there's still just a bit. So after it gets all the service I will probably lightly attack it with a clay bar.
