I went there and read a good bit. Most say replace the system with coils. I also found one that had pictures of the sensors taken apart, but I'm not sure where to find the sensors to take them apart. I haven't really look though and it might be really straight forward. Writeup did say there are two sensors on each side and it's about $1100 per side to replace the sensors. WOW!

I have a thread on here, I just went through a bad RAS sensor... about $500 installed at the dealer. Made the RAS uncontrolled and bouncy...

It is sweet, when it works.
I don't know about the US, but they wanted $1500 just to replace one actuator and line (drivers side).
Imagine what happens when you get a leak on the other side...then a shock leaks..then a sensor craps out. Get my drift? It's a dealer only system that would probably cost upwards of $5000-6000 to repair (completely) at the dealer.
It's not alone though...We have a sweet dealer only exhaust manifold issue too...and the cables to the moonroof are nice as well!
Options are great, but they shouldn't cost 1/2-1/3 of the value of the vehicle to replace at 100k miles.

I couldn't agree more. I got my Limited with literally every option available at the time, including XREAS and RAS. Why not? These are some great systems, I can really tell the difference with XREAS when doing heavy cornering at speed vs. other SUV's I've driven on same road. So yes it does work and it does make a real difference. Likewise RAS does some neat things in terms of leveling the rear under load or when towing. Cool system. However I'm now scared that they could break at any time leaving me with a big bill. I just replaced the RAS sensor and I'm just glad that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Knowing what I now know there is no way I would get XREAS or RAS again due to the high cost of future repair or replacement. They also greatly reduce the ability to do suspension mods such as lifts.

Same way you tell any shocks are shot -- are they leaking? The difference with XREAS is that if any of them are leaking they all have to go.

so just look for fluid leaks?

The system is extremely reliable, well designed and functions as it should. A highly desirable option for the T4R. The top heavy Range Rover is an ideal candidate for this application.

I elected to remove the system to upgrade the suspension for increased travel, more aggressive tires and more off-road trips.

For the original post, I would not worry about failure and plan to keep it as long as possible.

Yes. It isn't a complicated system. It is just shocks that are interconnected. If the shocks still feel fine and there are no fluid leaks, then there is no problem.
