XDm .45 Holster Mount

This is the holster mount I made for my Springfield XDm .45 Compact. I made it so that I could easily remove my holster when needed, while having a solid mount for my gun when traveling. Works great.

Just thought I'd share in case anyone was trying to do the same thing.

This design should work with any of the XD or XDm handguns.

Good idea, until you have a passenger. I usually jam my sidearm in it's IWB holster by my seatbelt buckle or clip it on the plastic trim under the steering wheel. My 5" XD45 started wearing the finish on the slide from the factory holster it came with so I went with a soft IWB holster, which I usually get for each of my pistols. I just don't feel comfortable having to reach too far for my weapon should I ever need it

I use the Blackhack Serpa holster with my USP c and i love it.

Unfortunate, I can't wear it and my seat belt at the same time so I have to remove it or go with out the seatbelt.

So :ak472:

I have the quick release attachment for my paddle, then when i get in the 4runner, I release it from my paddle and connect it to the door.

how exactly is that considered a "concealed" ? I can see it plan as day.

I dont think he is trying to conceal it. Every state has different laws about carrying a firearm in your car. Some states you can't do it unless you are going to a range, going to sell the gun, weapon and ammo in different parts of the car etc. In Texas we can carry a handgun in our car, even without a cch, as long as it is out of site.

Haha, I bet you can do more than just that in Texas. I bet you can ride a Harley with a 12 gauge on your back, and shoot other motorists if they look at you wrong, all being 100% legal :D

Missouri you can have it laying out in the open if it's in your vehicle. It's considered (your moving home) so to say.

In Missouri you can actually have it concealed on you or in the car as long as you are older than 21 and are legally allowed to own a hand gun. Just don't get out with it concealed on you if you don't have a permit.

The way I recommend is free, and very convenient location. Check it out using my PT92AFS 9mm

I personally dislike all the plastic holsters, they always hold on to the gun in places where it starts wearing the finish off. I also prefer to conceal carry over open carry, too many people stare or give funny looks when open carrying... I also live in the #1 state with the most relaxed gun laws, so you can conceal just about anywhere without a permit. Sorry, but Texas isn't near as lax as Arizona on gun laws.

Where the hell are you guys going in your trucks?

I think I'd probably just go somewhere safer!

I take my FourFive everywhere. Walmart, my bank, Dinner, Lowes, where ever I need to go.

There have been instances here in Raleigh, where people have been robbed at gun point while waiting for traffic lights. Another customer of mine, walking out of walmart, was attacked by knife while leaving.

There are bad people everywhere.

do you know missouri is a open carry state? but be very very careful, its considered a gray state, if someone says they were scared or felt threatened you could be in deep deep shiz! thats why CC is just better and safer for you.

also it doesn't matter for me if i take it out of my vehicle because i have the card. funny story

walking around the downtown outdoor shopping mall with some friend and parents,
when tim says we should go it gets dangerous around here this time at night.
when bob says to him, im not scared.
Tim asks "are you carrying"
"of course i am" says bob,
But i dont see anything - tim
Exactly!

haha happened about a month ago.

I'd say its better just not to be in an area where it's dangerous! Carrying or not. You'd still be counting on figuring out someone is going to hurt you and reacting in time. I could just walk up and shoot you and if didn't have a reason to see it coming you'd still be pretty dead. And then I'd have 2 guns!
