Xenon Depot 6500K Kit On Its Way!!

I ordered a 6500k kit that should arrive on Tuesday.

Went through Steve from Xenon Depot and service of course was fantastic. I just hope the product is the same.

Anyone else ever purchased/installed the 6500K? If so, how do you like it?

I have their 4300K kit on my truck. Let me know how you like the 6500K, and if it's not too much trouble could you take some pictures to show the color of the light output?

Personally, I want that bluish/purplish look when I am spending this type of money, not to mention it looks sick with silver.

I know from experience...been installing HIDs for quite some time now.

5000k are blue, 6000k are purple.

The light temperature is measured by kelvins, smaller the #, brighter they are, bigger the #, the lighter they are.

I went w/ 4300k, because it has the OEM look, just like a nice lexus...white/blue.

6500K is overkill. I had 6000K kit bulbs and I hated them, switched to 85122+ which are 4300K. Anything above 5000K is pointless to have, for some reason people think blue/purple looks cool. Good projector will give some color above cut-off as is, it will actually flicker when vehicle bounces on bumps. Not to mention how much useable light you losing going up in K value. If 4300K bulb (which is OEM for a reason and DOT certified) producing 3400 lumens, at 6500K you only have 2800 yet at 8000K only 1900 lumens (almost same as halogen bulbs). If you want performance stick with 4300K.

Your eyes will get tired on a long night ride looking on that blue hue. 4000-5000K is a same color as sunlight which is natural to your vision

Thank you for the offer...but they are already done!!

A member I met here, which became a great friend gave them to me. They were his old setup.

Now...all I have to do is buy the 85122+ Philips bulb & an adaptor & I'm ready to go.

Out of curiousity...how many retrofits have you done?

You will LOVE your TSX set-up. Beautifull projectors. Good improvement from stock headlights

By the way, this is with 35 watt ballast. I shortened one of my 55 watt during testing so waiting on a new set

oh my bad....i wasn't offering to do the retro, i was looking for a recommendation...sorry for the confusion. i'm debating if i want to take the plunge.

I might know who you're talking about : Congrats on the new lights!! can't wait to see them.

I just stepped down from 6000K. Whatever makes you happy i guess, some people find it attractive, dont pay attention to me
My goal was to squize out of my set up every possible lumen available, thats why clear lenses, 55 watt ballast and 4300K

6500k is to purple? Wow you all don't know much about HID's, let me clear it up. I had 8000k on my 02 4Runner for two weeks and according to what you all are saying, it should be much more purpleish than 6500k, since it is purple to you all. But 8k was like pure white, I bought them because in the pictures they looked blue, but I was highly dissapointed when they turned out to be really white, and not blue. I could see great with them, don't get me wrong, it just wasn't the color I was looking for.

The 8k was great for night driving so I'd have to say 6500k is even better! 4300k would be the best of course, but hell there's hardly much of a difference between 6500 and 4300. If you want see some ricey headlights look at mine, pure blue, and I can see great! :bigok:

HID colors broken down:

According to my personal experience and every single HID color scale on the internet they start to have a pretty nice blue tint around 8k, but still mostly white. Around 10k you get a strong purple tint with some blue. 6500 you've got a very strong white with a hint of blue, 4300 the whitest possible of course!
