[MENTION=143100]aspec44[/MENTION] - Both bulbs are rated at 4300k, however one bulb is Asian made, whereas the Philips bulb is a German-made Philips capsule. The main difference between the two bulbs (other then the country of manufacture) is that the Philips bulbs will color shift to approximately 4700k after 100 hours of use. No difference in terms of longevity (We have been selling the XenonDepot branded bulbs for years...).

Installed [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] 5000k HID kit today. Awesome upgrade, very pleased. Nice to see such great attention to detail on the packaging & product.

Followed [MENTION=129593]MTN4RNR[/MENTION] (thank you!) install & had no problems. I also opted for Velcro instead of the 3M sticky pad.

Few pics, wanted to get some outside but apparently I summoned the rain gods after my wash & detail today.

Just wanted to give another thumbs up to xenon depot.

Installed the 5000k HID low beam kit a day ago and absolutely love it.

I cannot believe Toyota doesn't equip the 4R like this from the factory.

I also added a set of LED's to the high beams and backup lights... then added the tail as turn kit and put LED's into the turn signal socket.

What an awesome mod and transformation... :clap2:

I will be using your write up [MENTION=129593]MTN4RNR[/MENTION]. I assume you connected the little red thing to the positive battery terminal right? I didn't see that in any pics? Did you just put the other one on the body for the ground?

You don't need to use the relay harnesses for the HID upgrade, confirmed with [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION]. No hooking to battery or ground. Just plug your stock Deutch connector into the matching one on the ballast.

Got mine installed yesterday! The hardest part was getting the new bulbs in! Hard to see where they go and even worse when it's 100 degrees and you glasses keep sliding down your sweaty nose! Here is the only pic I got. I need to get some better night pics.

I did the Extreme HID kit (4300K Phillips bulbs). Ordered Tuesday morning got it Thursday! Thanks [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] for the fast shipping! And thank you [MENTION=129593]MTN4RNR[/MENTION] for the help with my questions!

I installed mine last week - love it!

Here's a couple tips from my install:

Drilling through the dust covers: I used the drill bit [MENTION=129593]MTN4RNR[/MENTION] recommended, and it was butter smooth. I laid the dust cover on a 2x4 and drilled through the plastic. This made it easy for me to drill through the plastic since there was something I could drill into and would add extra support to the plastic.

Well. I said a couple but that's all I have!

I'm curious what others did regarding their grounding on both sides. Driver side was easier - I just used the battery ground. Passenger side wasn't such a no brainier.

Also - what did everyone do regarding mounting the two "box", heavier components on either side?

I ended up using industrial strength Velcro for everything and haven't seen them move.

How much brighter are these compared to stock?

How do you know if you need the CANbus option?!? - Or maybe I should be asking what is CANbus option?

Just placed an order for light upgrades! HID low beam and LED high.
Now I just need the damn 4runner....
On both my Jeeps I had Trucklite headlights and I can't stress enough how important good headlights are for the first upgrade.
