Xenon depot require scan of ID and cc?

I didn't (I've made 2 purchases from them) but I used Paypal both times so maybe that removes some of the CC payment stuff from their jurisdiction.
Personally I would not send it to them. I understand why they might want it for verification but IMO that's too much information to give away. I like Xenon Depot but there are other vendors selling the same kinds of things.

Yea maybe I should do PayPal. But I still don't understand because no other company require that online.

I hate to ask the obvious but are you sure you weren't redirected somewhere on the off chance when you clicked a link? I have found popups that are what I call a a "chameleon" since it mimics the previous page but the URL is different. Double check the URL and make sure it isn't an off site spamming you. I've never heard of such a thing before. Also try google chrome and not Internet explorer.

That sounds really bad, and I'd not do it, ever, for any reason.

@Brusk - What is your order number? The only time we would ever do that is if the fraud score on your order came back extremely low, you were shipping to an address that is different from your billing address and the order value was high, and/or you were having an item shipped internationally --in which case we would ONLY ask for a photo id, and the card showing the last 4 digits.
You guys would be amazed at how many fraud attempts there are these days...
