XRES - What's the difference?

I have a limited 2012, which obviously came with 'XRES' suspension. I've heard a lot of mention of this on the forum but no explanation of what the difference is with it vs the standard SR5 suspension?

FYI I am interested in a 2.5/1.5 lift, but I like the ride quite a bit right now and I am just curious if I change out the suspension what am I getting rid of.

Thanks for your help!

Ha ha! yeah I have read hundreds of posts but being such a nubee I keep pretty quite.

This site is really great, but god is it hard on the pocket book. My wish list is currently up to $14K in upgrades... and growing. I have $0 for upgrades at the moment, so just keep on wishing.

Here you go for next mod then and your wish has been granted...... Plastic mod........jk!

Tell me about it. I set aside 10 grand for mods out of the sale of my M3 and blew threw that the first year or so,and I even do my own work. Now I'm looking at taking parts off to sell to so I can regear and lock! lol

Congrats on your new Limited!

HA! Yeah wouldn't it be nice if plastic would just solve the problem (and not come back to haunt me in 30 days)!

Thanks! I absolutly LOVE my T4R... except the wheels are hideous. Either the TRD wheels, or a set of Trail wheels with the GY Duratracks will probably be the first upgrade.

By the way Harper, you are responsible for AT LEAST $10K of my wish list! You've done some incredible things to your T4R! Good luck with finding the means for your next mods.

Don't be foolish. Jumping in blindly is CLEARLY the way to go.

Ha. Good Point. But I was more thinking in terms of scrapping XREAS. IMHO, its a great system and if all of his driving will be on pavement I would suggest keeping it.

Yeah that's why I was asking about it. I would love to say that 50%+ of my driving will be in the rough stuff but I will be lucky to spend one day a week in the dirt. It's primarily my daily driver, but also something I want for some wheeling.

Unfortunately I have yet to find any open trails/areas I can go play in around here. So far the few trails I know of (Forrest service roads open by permit) are closed due to rain damage. I've bought a book that's on it's way for SoCal trails, and hopefully that will enlighten me.

If any of you know of places to have some fun in the Ventura or Santa Barbara County areas let me know!

ha ha! Well when you've got this forum to follow it's hardly jumping in blindly. It's more of a story of keeping the credit cards IN my wallet after reading the build threads!
