Been trying to chase down some steering knock when traveling on rocky off road trails for a long time. I noticed the other day while replacing my front swaybar bushings and endlinks that my swaybar may have been making contact with a suspension support brace I modified when I had to relocate my swaybar to fit my Icon CDCV 2.5 coilovers. After some research I found out that Old Man Emu makes a fitment kit that replaces this support brace with one that has much more clearance. So I decided to tackle the install last night.

As you can see by the silver wear marks my swaybar has been making contact (OEM on top and the replacement OME support bracket on bottom):

Here is a before and after picture once I was done with the install. You can see the swaybar now has almost an inch of clearance. Bonus points that I also gained some skidplate clearance back since I don't need to use bracket spacers anymore:

Now I need to hit some dirt to test everything out!

Did you only replace the driver side or the passenger as well?

You only need to replace the driver side bracket. The passenger side has more than enough clearance.

The picture they have up seems pretty different than what you have sitting next to the old support. Is it a weld-on piece to the existing support? Or does the picture just not display all the items in the kit? I've got my 2.5s sitting waiting to be installed, and I had seen this solution pop up recently, but wasn't sure if I was getting the right item. SR5, Icon 2.5s. This should work no?

Sorry just saw the alert for this. The part is not in the pictures and it's a full replacement of your original OEM support. It will definitely work on an SR5 w/o KDSS with Icon 2.5 coilovers (That is my current setup)

I only got #17 and fashioned up some hardware/bolts that used an existing center support to stabilize that new piece which also attached to the headlights. Everything is rock solid now. I can try to take a pic this weekend or you're more than welcome to take a look if you're ever in SF.

Finally finished installing my dual battery system. Of all the things I’ve done to my truck this was probably the most difficult. It took almost two months of research, working nights after work and weekends to get this in. I went with a National Luna battery management system, Odyssey PC1400, Shrockworks 2nd battery mount and custom cables. The sPod is wired to the aux battery and I will start work on running a rear fuse block for a fridge, accessory power and rear kitchen lighting next.

How did you fit the dual compressor back there with the air pump?
I see that Schrockworks now sell a mount kit, but it is only for a single, not a dual.

Sorry for the really crappy and muddy pic. I circled in red the long bolt and nuts I’m using to secure the new center support onto the old support for the OEM bumper. The orientation of the pic is looking from the engine bay away from the truck. Hope that helps

Thanks! This is going to be very helpful. Just a bolt, a few nuts and what looks like some zip ties for good measure. This makes sense now. I was just overthinking the setup.

Yes! That was an amazing trip for sure. Sorry I didnt reply until now man. Looking to head out to Utah to do a National Park tour mostly offroad once we are done with Quarantine!

Been a while since I’ve updated the good ole build thread. Lopped off the Gobi rack almost a year ago to add a GFC roof top tent!

Spent around 50 nights in it so far this year and it’s been fantastic

I hate to bring this post back, but I made an account here just to ask you about the work you did. Did this kit come with all the bolts to install? Or do I need to fond an m6 and the other hardware? All I need is that bracket just like you - as I am now running a new icon kit that just started rubbing the swaybar. I'm not confident in my welding/cutting abilities + plan on getting RCI steel skids soon to replace what I have , so if this bracket does the trick I'm going to hop on it.
