Anyone done a belt driven compressor? I'd rather do this than a 12v but I don't wanna go to the junkyard unless I know it'll fit.

Sure but my point is that if you're thinking of adding a York you might want to consider a Toyota compressor instead.

The nice thing about a York is that it is self-oiling and has its own reservoir. I believe the Toyota and Sanden compressors used in many other makes require the refrigerant to also carry the compressor oil.
Yes, the York is bulky, but if you get the right model, it puts out a lot. I had a York onboard air system on my old FZJ80 and I used all the time when working on my truck over my garage air compressor just because of the convenience.
The 80 series cruisers had plenty of space in the engine compartment and even threaded holes in the head to attach a mounting bracket. I think you would be hard pressed to find space to fit the York and all the plumbing in a 4th gen 4Runner.
