You have 1750-2000 to spend on lifting your 4runner, what do you buy?

I'm stuck on what to get. I'm mixing and matching, looking at all in one kits. I want about a 2" lift and go off-road once or twice a month and like to be able to keep a semi fast speed while taking it on dirt roads. I'm not trying to do any rock climbing or anything serious. I also don't feel like dealing with alignment issues. I've been looking at this but I'm not entirely sold. What would you guys do or what do you recommend?

You're gonna get a million opinions on everyone's personal favorite brand as there are lots of options. A 2k budget puts you really close to rebuildable coilovers and front uca's.. from any of the top brands. For example: Radflo 4Runner Stage 2 Suspension Kit w/ Total Chaos UCA's

I'd read up on the pros and cons of less expensive shocks versus race oriented shocks cause this has been discussed at length! Good luck!

Save another grand....if your going to do it, do it right the first time.

I would've loved to get the new old man emu coil overs but the thought of needing to rebuild them (or any other coil over for that matter) at some point and shipping them out of Hawaii was a small deal breaker for me. In the end I went with the reliable OME into chargers, springs front and rear, and some new UCAs...

Down the road servicing vs. just replacing should also come into consideration.

For the money I'd take UCA's over remote reservoirs any day, reservoirs set you back a lot of $$. Do you need to pick up recovery gear, camping gear, skid plates, awning, cooler, fuel storage, etc any of that stuff. Factored in tires?

You need to do a bit of research and know what you are getting into. For example, can you remove your shocks and send them back for rebuild and do without your 4runner for a few weeks?
 
When it comes to needing servicing.....I even went with camburg ball-joint UCAs cause I wanted more of "less-service" than not...

I know but I really don't even know where to look or what to look for. I won't be able to do what you asked though. I know that.

My eventual plan is going with the Bilstein 6112 in front set at 2 inches and toytec boss 2.0 rear shocks with superflex coils (and the rear bump stops of course). At 2 inches, I shouldn't need new UCAs to get the alignment, and I've read that UCAs don't provide a significant amount of extra down travel anyway. All of these parts use bushings instead of heims, so they won't squeak or need maintenance. The total of all of this is ~$1300 (from toytec, coilovers assembled, without coupons or shipping) and these are not bad parts. Not the best, but also not bottom end. This is my "do it right the first time" and "keep it simple" solution. I'm already impressed with the capabilities and I don't feel the need for my DD to be a race rig, I just need more clearance (I honestly do, this isn't for looks). I don't plan on adding weight except for the sliders I already have. The lower price gives me room to buy new tires (1st choice) or have a shop do the install. This is my idea, hope it helps.

P.S. I do search the classifieds here and on the FJ forum just in case there is a deal

Edit: I'm have changed my opinion to a Dobinsons setup

I'm more practical than showy. If I had $2000 burning a hole in my pocket:
$350 Billy 5100's all around
$450 JBA UCA's
$200 Wheeler T12 rear springs (~+2", same as the old Sway-away springs)
$200 Wheeler T1 front coils (~+2.5" with shocks set at 0)

Spend the remaining $800 on armor or other upgrades.

I'm doing almost the same thing minus the front springs ( using stock set at 2.5 ) and using spc uca's with icon rear 2" springs. Pretty much a pavement princess!

Well....Now I'm even more confused. Even more options to consider now. I guess one of the biggest things is not having to deal with major issues down the road which is why I thought the link in the OP would be best.
