When you're pleasantly surprised that your 3.4 can spin 285s just as happily as 265s, but your brakes hymn and haw at their job of slowing them down.
Preemptive: waiting for daylight for some pics.
I do this all the time with passengers in my car - I'm like "oh, there's a 4Runner! That's a nice one! oooooh!" lol
Edit: I should clarify most everyone ignores me... haha. Sometimes it's awwwwkward!
When you live in California and have to buy a $1700 cat from the dealer instead of the $400 one that your mechanic was going to get because of the crazy emission laws!!!
who told you that?
My mechanic. The guy who owned the car before me put a crappy after market one on and when I got the check engine light for a bad cat, I took it in to get it replaced. My mechanic was going to replace it with one basically the same as the dealer one but way cheaper then he found out that the code on the cat had to match this code inside the hood which only the dealer sells. He said that since California is setting the standard for the rest of the country, its emission laws are way stricter.
First of all CEL for bat at are 50/50, most of the time its not the cat at all, second, all vehical before 2000 can use carb legal cat.
What is CEL? If that is the code then it is P0420 and it says something about a bad cat. And you are sure about the before 2000 thing? because that would be awesome because I still have not replaced the cat after months of the light coming on and off and that would save my bank account from being drained. Also what is a carb legal cat?
