Your aftermarket alarm: beep vs. horn vs. siren??

To those with aftermarket alarms and remote starters:

Does your brand/model system allow you to keep the "BEEP" when using the unlock/lock feature on the remote? or does the horn honk? ...also, is your system alert a horn sounding or siren?

The reason I'm asking: I'm in the market for an alarm. I like a Viper model that Tweeter will install for me for around $600 with remote starter and 2way pager, but I would like to keep the Toyota BEEPING sound when arming/disarming the vehicle - it's not as obnoxious as a horn sounding every time I want to enter/exit the truck. (quiet neighborhood). I don't think the Viper allows this.

Then it will beep (but not toyota's, however close and not obnoxiously loud).
I have cliffords version and it is great. (same alarm)

There is also a silent mode you can activate through the remote if you do not want any noise.

you can do a number of things. depending on the alarm you can have the horn honk on and off, you can have a chirp on and off or you have nothing on and off...just a beep on ur pager alarm. for when the alarm goes off you can have it be the horn, the horn and siren(like i have) or just the siren. number of options on most of the better kinds. IE viper, Clifford, python. i have the python (sorry dont know what model.) but works great, i have about a 1/4 mile that it works. remote start. worth the $400, also i got the window roll up...it rolls all the windows up when i lock the car. if u didnt know. and u can have it roll them down as well, but i havent gotten that yet. but will. there just add on modules to the alarm. but 600 is kinda expensive. i would look around. if you live in socal i have a good shop that i go to, i use to work around at the shop. pm me if want.

I have a clifford as well. It has several options. I have it set to setting that sounds like the highest pitch key on a piano. It doesn't sound like a chirp, but a piano. In this day and ago you could probably have one fart at you if youd like.

Yeah My clifford does the same thing. You have the option (or at least mine did) of regular chirps, quiet chrps (which is what I have, and it sounded like the piano keys) or I had another button on my remote that I could use that armed and dismared silently. Good for at night because I could keep the alarm from making sound, and it's easy to see the parking lights flash to verify it's armed.

i too have the clifford pager alarm and have the quiet chirp. also have the option of silent arm and disarm.

i chose to have the siren and the horn honk when the alarm goes off. it's quite loud and recommend it!
