What is this "test mode" that I need to enter to finish the calibration and how do I enter it?

. PERFORM DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL CALIBRATION (w/ Downhill Assist Control)

(b) Enter test mode (when using SST check wire).

Are you using techstream, or a wire to short out pins? I've done the techstream version a few times, but not the shorting out pins version....

It's really simple with the wire...you're up to the part where you have to initialize the crawl control right?

Keep the ignition off, jumper the two pins with the wire, turn the ignition to the "ON" position, then press the crawl control button and rotate the knob a few times like it says in the FSM. Once that's done, just turn it off and pull out the jumper and you should be go to go. Let me know if you're stuck in any of the steps :)

^^Forgot to mention that too...you have to think outside the box when reading the FSM for that portion of the calibration, it's kind of confusing the way they wrote it and if you read it too literally, it doesn't work because the FSM forgets to tell you turn the key back to "ON" I think, lol.

To clarify what I wrote earlier, right after you are done with the drive forward for 10 seconds step...turn the key to off, and place it into the "test mode" by jumpering those same two pins. Then you skip the DAC calibration portion like jbstrd said, and simply turn the key to the "ON" position and press the crawl control switch to make sure the little icon lights up in the dash, and also rotate the crawl control knob from low to high and then high back to low. Finally, turn it off removed the jumper and now you're done.

I initially tried it with TS but the slip light came on solid after I did it and I couldn't clear it. I was getting DTC C120A Frustrating.

Thanks Eddie, just the man I was hopping would respond. That's exactly where I was stuck. The instructions left out that portion to turn the ignition on after you jump the pins... my first time doing the Zero Point cal. and I definitely read it too literally, plus was a bit tired after work and cranky cause I was hungry.... haha

Shawn,

You would skip Step #4 (Downhill Assist Control) since you have a TE. Skip to the Crawl Control step instead.

Thanks for the tip, I was half asleep after work and not thinking clearly, I was thinking the DAC was crawl control... go figure.
