What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Received my first Blackstone UOA report! I literally cannot believe how incredible my first report reads. I am so incredibly happy about it and wanted to share it with others. Not sure if there’s an official UOA thread on here, but I haven’t found one yet

Trying to figure out how to put a 3rd gen Tacoma TRD Pro suspension into my 3rd gen 4Runner. I have been wanting a lift for a long time but don’t know if it will even fit.

Replaced my right lower ball joint with OEM...the aftermarket one a mechanic put in bit the dust after 3k miles. OEM was $5 cheaper than what the mechanic charged me for parts. He must have thought the cotter pin on the tie rod was optional.

Yesterday I upgraded my front speakers to Kicker 46CSC654s, just something decent on a budget to improve my listening experience. While I was in there I sound deadened the front doors with kilmat. Can't speak to the effect yet but I'll be driving to work monday and am excited to test it out! I was in a hurry and baking in the sun so I only got a couple photos.

This is inspiring. I love it.

Changed Rear Diff Oil

Waiting to do the front and the transfer case until the thread chasers I ordered arrive. Need to try to fix the skid plate bolts while they're off. 3 of 'em just spin. Hoping that does the trick.

That rear fill bolt didn't want to come off. PB Blaster for two days, 15" breaker bar with all my might couldn't do it. Northern CA so no rust - probably didn't need to be banging on it with the hammer. Read a suggestion here about using the jack which I wouldn't have thought of trying. Worked flawlessly!

Didn't look like much of anything on the magnet of the drain plug.

I didn't measure anything, just pumped it in until it started coming back out. Seems like I used too much but as far as I'm aware, as long as it's on level ground you really can't overfill it. Am I wrong?

One more job I wouldn't have tried myself before I started reading this forum.

Thank you!

Not today but over the last few weeks.

Over the past few weeks, OEM LBJ’s, TBU (OEM Rotors and pads, NAPA total eclipse calipers 231mm), Energy Suspension sway bar bushings and end link bushings, 4Crawler diff drop.

I installed a Nguyen Works rear swing out bumper yesterday. Nice to get that spare off of the panhard bar finally.

Failed smog test - cat monitor not ready. This was about 200 miles after last battery disconnect. Tried my best to follow the recommended driving routine for cat not ready. Still not ready. Threw in a bottle of cataclean. Drove 15 miles. Filled tank. Drove home and sure enough cat monitor ready and green!

Not perfect but massively better than before with all the yellowed fading plastic and peeling paint.

Steps in order:
- 400 grit sandpaper
- clean with warm water and dish soap
- air dry overnight
- multiple coats of Rust-Oleum 2x flat white primer
- air dry overnight
- multiple coats of Rust-Oleum high performance silver wheel paint
- air dry overnight
- filled in the logos with Competitive Advantage Enamel Paint Marker MPD-15 in Gray. (Review: The paint pen is excellent, however even at 2mm, the nib is not fine enough for this application. Would have been easier with a 1mm nib.)
- air dry overnight
- very light coat of Rust-Oleum Satin Clear Enamel paint (too much clear coat and you'll lose the metallic look of the silver wheel paint).

Finish installing the highlift jack with a little modifications to the mounting bracket. But we got it done.

Gonna have to give this a try. Damn cat monitor is the last one that hasn't set.

Finally got everything hooked up after getting the wrong wiring harness, ARB claimed it had been modified even though it was factory sealed and shrink wrapped, then had a bad seal in the front locker even though it wasn't in the recall. Improvised a surface mount from a $4 walmart ammo box. Still waiting on the refund from ARB for the R&R labor, they said 4-6 weeks.
