Found a "snap in" USB/Aux module that will fit a 4th Gen 4Runner... maybe?

I purchased one on ebay that came from a Tundra *hoping* that it would fit in my 2005 4Runner, but it arrived today and nope. :frusty:

I have a GTA Car Kit, so all I need is something that will simply act as an extension that I can route to my center console switch blanks. I know other people were looking for something similar.

Well, I just found (and ordered) this on eBay. I haven't seen any other references to it on the forum, so here it is. Fingers are crossed...

Looks like it'll fit one of the blanks on your dash. Why so much trouble for not so good quality? So much easier and likely cheaper to just install an aftermarket stereo in the dash with everything you want it to have. A lot of aftermarket stereos actually have rear USB and AUX inputs so you could even install this, wire it to the new stereo, have a nice clean plug and play jack on the dash like the newer trucks.

If that's the case, I may be able to make it work with a little ingenuity. Maybe. Better than if it's too big.

FWIW, I am also installing the same dual USB on my dash. :thumb:

I'm fine with the stock stereo and the GTA kit works great! I wanted to add Bluetooth so i could scrap the cassette adapter we were using. Also, this will allow my girlfriend to charge her phone and play her music through the aux. Plus, I can now make/take handsfree calls via Bluetooth. :shrug:

I had something similar to this to fit the stock 4th gen switch locations, but the quality was subpar at best. I had to open it all up, resolder all the connections as they came apart in a few uses - it eventually stopped working all together, so I decided to get one of those little USB ones for the cigarette lighter

The McTuning unit on Amazon is cheaper and there's no quality issues.

I put it in the blank next to the seat heater switches, wired it to the cigarette lighter socket using quick splice connectors. literally a 5 minute job.
 
The McTuning dual usb is what I put in my 07 4runner. Its works fantastic, only thing I did was cut the little blue LEDs off, paint it flat black, and spliced into my cigarette lighter power cable. Fits perfect, works perfect (even with both ports powering large devices), and looks stock. Must have interior mod!

Mictuning for me as well.
I installed 2 of them. One with dual USB and one with a single USB and a volt meter.
