i'll post some this weekend cause i gotta clean them up. i like them but some people mistake them for angel eyes. my truck is black so i didn't want them to be too dark. i have a build thread coming soon.

Any idea whether you guys getting cracks are getting hit by rocks? Hard to believe they are spontaneously cracking for no reason. Regardless, I feel bad some of you are having a bad experience with these lights, since I'm the one who did the write up. Crossing fingers, mine are still perfect.

It looks like the cracks are inside the front lense.

Just baked my headlights and painted the chrome with PlastiDip smoke to match all my other smoked chrome. Had one light smashed by a deer collision, so I just replaced both with Eagle Eyes enclosures to match. I've got the driver side OEM headlight enclosure if anyone wants to buy it - just a little yellowing at top edge, I expect would buff out easily.

Hot tip, in case it helps someone baking and opening up some Eagle Eyes enclosures: to get the inner clear lenses removed, I had to trim a couple hairs thicknesses off of the outside edge of the two outer tabs. They look like they were melted down a bit after installation to lock them in place - had no problem reinstalling securely afterward.

Also, I used some bug & tar remover on the chrome to prep for paint and it quickly started to dissolve the chrome finish. Normally this wouldn't matter if you're painting a solid color, but the PlastiDip smoke is transparent, so an even base matters. It wasn't bad enough to make much difference, as I detected it early and stopped, but tread lightly with that weak chromey finish if you want to preserve it. :

Has anyone tried/used the aftermarket pre-made black housings? Are the projectors as good quality as OEM? I'd like to upgrade to HIDs as well, but don't want cheap projectors.

Can someone please elaborate on the 4th screw that is so difficult to remove, and post a better picture of it? The arrow in the image on the first post seems to be pointing at nothing. I removed what I think was the correct screw after accessing the fender area but the headlight assembly still didn't want to come out. Previous owner had a loose bulb stuck in the turn-signal cavity and its causing the connected bulb to have intermittent problems.

I had to give up for now and put everything back (except that screw) because this is my daily driver.

Here are some additional pictures showing the 4th lower bolt. My passenger side was snapped off, and I actually broke the driver side off trying to get it out. Not a big deal because I was replacing the entire assembly. I took a few pictures of the bolt from hell.

I'm going to blackout my headlights soon, and was wondering if Plasti dip would work? I've already done my grill, emblems, and side mirrors with it, and would like to match the headlights. Any issues?

are you going to be installing HIDs as well? if so it might be better to use a high temp paint.
