Hello all,
I know this isn't a Lexus forum, but I know that the GX is very similar to the 4Runner. I also know how active this forum is! I am hoping you can help me! Here is what is happening:
I have a 2013 GX460 with 70,000 miles on it. It's a daily driver and does not go offroad. I am getting a thumping noise when turning at very low speeds. I can sometimes feel it in the steering wheel. (Tapping) Even while driving straight. It comes and goes. It is consistent in the steering while turning hard at slow speeds. I was thinking this is a cv joint or wheel bearing. The CV Joint on the driver side does not have any cracks in the boot and a bearing seems a little premature at this mileage. Before I replace the cv joint, has anyone had a similar problem?
