Show me what you have done with the factory TRD Pro roof rack.

Mine works great for my shovel, firewood, and dirty camping tarp.. it's much better than the regular 4Runner rack was at holding this stuff in place.

It looks like the TRD sequoia rack. I wish toyota made it flat and full length from the factory like the sequoia rack.

Best looking rack mod ever!
 
Drilled some holes in the stock crossbars to mount a couple of Maxtrax Extremes. Used their mounts. Wanted to keep it low to still fit in the garage. Worked OK.

Did the same to the black trim on the roof and tucked everything tight with a DT connector so I can plug it off when I don't need it.

Hey [MENTION=498772]?????[/MENTION] ... could you share a photo or two of how you got it from the top of the windshield to the rack? I understand the windshield channel approach, but I can't figure out how you got it from the windshield to the rack, and I'd love to do the same thing. Thanks!
 
I want to get a TRD roof rack and put a low profile solar panel on it, to trickle charge a dual battery setup!

More of an experience project than having an actual use for it.

Previously had a ski setup before I upgraded. Yakima Fatcat 4 just fits our OEM Pro rack.

APologies,,, never saw this..

Stock cross bars and THule Vector Alpine XL i think.. I laser cut longer clamp jaws for the existing thule cross bar quick release clamps... everything works like a charm...
 
Just attached an old Yakima mount/crossbar at the front of the Pro rack to attach a bike fork mount and wrap a surfboard foam rack pads to. No issues after thousands of highway miles.

I'm looking to throw a kayak on my oem Pro rack, but do I really need to get the J mounts to attach to the rack or can I just place it and tie it directly to the oem rack? Anyone here have pictures of their kayaks on the TRD Pro rack?

I also machined some custom caps for the front mount where the top rail used to reside.

I have produced a few kits and I am thinking of selling them if there is enough interest.

He just texted me and said he’s no longer doing it. Do you think there is just a simple rubber cap solution that can go over the two front openings on the upper bar is removed? Does anyone know the inside and outside dimension of the tubing
