Given the current state of things, I'm seriously considering moving to BC, eh.
Especially after a couple of my friends have moved up there and cant say enough good things about it.

I wish! I have multiple friends that have MIG and TIG welders so I usually just end up doing all the metal prep and fabrication and then they just burn everything together for me.
Totally! Let's try to plan a run in June. I want to pick your brain on a dual battery setup, and at some point I'll be buying your fuse box mount.
Those were Landcruiser wheels. Easy and cheap to come by! I highly recommend them to anyone on a budget.

Definitely, are you on the colorado facebook groups? thats where most of the runs I go on materialize.
Also I am only taking orders on those mounts until monday.. so get one now if you want one.

I'm not on FB. We can figure something out though. I don't like wheeling with more than 3-4 other rigs. I guess I'm a trail snob that remembers what it used to be like in CO haha.
I'm leaving for 3 weeks tomorrow. Guess I better get my order in!

Been a while since I've updated. Sorry in advance for the following photo vomit.
I finally got around to installing my ARB awning. Right now it is a crude and simple way to attach it, and requires tools to take apart. I plan to make quick release levers for it so I can switch sides if I need to or remove it when its not being used. It's the largest unit ARB makes- 8'2"x8'2"
I also gave in and bought the awning room because I got a screaming deal. It's really sweet because you can have all sides open, screened, or completely closed, and you have access to the doors of your car via a zip away wall. It's stored in a separate bag so that's kind of a bummer but it is what it is.
The whole setup can be deployed in about 10-12 minutes if I have help, which isn't too bad, but I sure won't be using the room every time I camp because that could get old fast.

I installed a 37" single row LED light bar on the front of my fibergrate roof rack. Still need to run the wire and power it up, but at least I got it up there.
Installed some more lighting that should fill the darker areas that the other bars aren't able to fill.
Say hello to my first weld ever. It sure is an ugly little booger but that's ok, strong is all that matters right now!

Think I've been a little hard on the belly skid lately. It's been bent in and is actually touching the bottom of the transfer case. If you look closely you can even see that at one point it touched the heat shield for the cat. I kept wondering what some vibrating metallic sound I had was at certain RPMs, but I think it's the transfer case making contact with the skid.

Nice update.
Based on the looks of your armor and wheels as compared to the last post, I'd say you had a good summer with the 4Runner. That front plate on the bumper turned out well with the integrated light and the dimple dies.

Thanks! It feels much more complete now.
I spent a lot of time out on the trails this year but the 4Runner will never forget Chinaman Gulch. It took a good beating out there but hey, that's why it's built the way it is. There's something so satisfying about using the upgrades while you're out on the trail!
Let's just say it was dragged through some rocks during 2017!

Well 2017 was one of the best years of my life. Most of that has to do with the fact that I was able to travel all over in the 4Runner. Here's a look back at the year from my 4Runners point of view. Lots of stories behind these photos but I'll just post the photos for pure enjoyment.
