02 4runner drive shaft making squeak noise

when i accelerate my drive line makes noise. i put the truck on jack stands an put it in drive. sure enough no noise from the transfer case or the rear diff. all the noise straight from the DS. I'm getting a used DS soon so hopefully this will fix the problem. undercarriage is pretty rusty and weather beat down there so maybe thats the problem. anybody else experience this?????

Grease the Ujoints. Sounds like there are on the way out..

i just did the noise still consists i think its done. is there a danger to it going out

Yes. If it snaps completely off which can happen the shaft can swing around take out anything within reach. ( gas tank, floor boards, human beings, animals , other cars, yourself, children ect.
