06-09 LED headlight bulbs. MUST TRY list

I think OP has started a trend. I ordered low, high, fog, and backup replacements.

I can't say i think they are spectacular, but all have been a decent upgrade. No problems yet.

Haven't recieved my fogs yet. Will post back after.

So I got the H11 lows and they work fine. I also got the 9005 high beams and plugged them into my (2006 stock) headlamps but they did not work. Any ideas as to why?

Reversed polarity. Pull the LED plugs out of the OEM harness, rotate the plug 180 and reinstall. Do not put the bulbs back into the housing until you get them to fire up.

Anyone switched from HID kit to LED?

I'm going on 2 years with my cheap amazon hid kit. No issues but would likely switch when they go out. Seems like led has come a long way over the past few years, but are they as bright as a real hid system?

Ok good to know. Had no issue with my cougar LED's, so apparently the seals on these are trash. I just took the seals off my old bulbs and they fit right on. Much thicker as well. I left my bulb out to dry it out and will reinstall when the lens is clear again.

I live a pretty minimalistic lifestyle (own a tiny house) so unfortunately, I have no access to a hairdryer to dry it out.

I had this thing through rain and snow here in Seattle, as well as car washes with a pressure washer... zero issues.

I've had no issues with the last two sets of bulbs I've ran. This new set, passenger foggy. No other changes. It could be but I think it's most likely the bulbs.

Gotcha. Could be the bulbs but I highly doubt it.

I also just happened to change my radiator. The mechanic left the upper rad pipe clamps off by mistake... exploded steam and coolant all over the engine bay including the back of all headlight bulbs. Headlights still have zero condensation issues.

That’s exactly what I did, had some cheap HIDs (but pretty good luck), bought these for hi & low beams on my 2008 Limited, so far so good. cant wait to rip out the ballasts and relay.

The condensation could be a result of the LEDs not putting out as much heat as an HID bulb, causing the inside of the lens to be a different temperature than its used to. I've seen this on some other cars I've installed LEDs in as well, almost a few days later they start to condensate if the weather fluctuates drastically. Not sure if my reasoning is correct though, just food for thought.

Do these get dim after 5 seconds? What are the lumens output then?

Hi, there, thanks for your inquiry. Yes, they will become dim after 5 seconds because of automatic temperature protection system. The dim mode lumen will be 1/3 of bright mode.

Yep they dim within a couple seconds of being on. In my opinion, you don’t need these to be bright for DRL’s so it really doesn’t matter what the lumens output is.

Blinker function is extremely bright... which is great for hazards, but not necessarily a good thing for blinkers.

Same here, and even when they dim, they are brighter than they were with the halogen bulbs they replaced. Also have a nice color which shouldn’t fade as the halogens do over time. I’ve literally replaced the bulbs in the past because they start to lose the nice deep amber and fade to pale yellow. Hopefully that will never happen with these. So far I’m very pleased with them!
