2006+ Grill on a 2003-2005
06 Mod, the mod of 10,000 fails. Another member was nice enough to donate his old grill to me for only the cost of shipping, so a HUGE thanks to him. This was hard because I didn't have any measurements, I just kept going at it, and now I have some slight gouges on my bumper from trying to get it down. Sucks but not really noticeable. This mod required a TON of modification to the grill, and although I tried to avoid it, to the bumper as well. The bumper modification will be completely unnoticeable if I install the old lower grill again, so in a sense, its reversible.
The bottom of the grill required a LOT taken off, and I didn't like that, but I think it still works. The secondary latch doesn't fit, where you stick your fingers under to open the hood after its been popped doesn't fit, as the 06 requires a longer one. Its 50 bucks, but I'm going to try and fabricate my own because the latch is still good, I just need a longer piece that connects the 2 main pieces.
I'm not sure I like it, the black, but it makes a good segway into a color keyed grill later. Thoughts???
And my SAM mod. This mod was easier than the grill mod by far. Some slight modifications to the roof and electrical system. Also I have to be in park or 4-Lo to launch this sucker. It does eat up my MPG's, but I feel the added security against aerial threats offsets the added weight.
