06 Rear Glass blew, Safelite glass grinding sound?

ok so my rear glass blew due to a malfunctioning defroster, I have since replaced the glass with Safelite, however, when rolling down or rolling up, it sticks, grinds, and seems to oscillate side to side, all of these things were not present prior to the glass detonating.

the glass blew while the window was rolled down.

the guy at safelite seems to believe that when it went Hiroshima, that glass dust coated the cables and that now I will have to replace the regulator, and who else knows.

anyone else have any trouble with this? I'm wondering since the cables were slack if they didn't fall out of runners or bushings, and that they are scraping against metal.

Theres more than likely pieces of glass in the track still. Not glass dust either, thats a funny excuse from a safelite employee. You can take the trim panel off and inspect yourself or call safelite and let them know the issues.

You could have a little bit of everything: small pieces of glass (larger than dust) among the regulator parts, and pieces inside the channels. Try accessing the area by removing the panel. You may try vacuuming up everything, then use compressed air to blow out the moving parts. Wear protection of course. Apply lithium grease to the necessary places, and give it a test.
