'12 SR5 Mud Flap Options

Hey guys,
I'm in the market for some mud flaps/splash guards for my 4R SR5. I do NOT have running boards.

I work down a (muddy) gravel driveway, and I'm trying to keep my new BLACK SR5 clean/chip free.

(I have Rally Armor guards on my Outback, but they don't make them for the 4R)

What are my options for splash guards? (OEM, Husky, etc?)
Would you recommend what you currently have? pros/cons? best spot for pricing?

Husky's are good. They do the job they were designed to do. I simply did not like them for my uses as I am in sand a lot. Although the mud flaps would prevent sand and rocks from kicking out and damaging the the lower rear of the quarter panel,(and other peoples windshields) they "collected" wet sand and when the sand dried, my mud flaps would take a dump in my garage! I suspect it would do the same with wet snow and mud. So off they went. Not sure if the OEM's do the same or not. I am sure, however, the OEM's are more expensive. I have a set of Husky's that will fit the 2012 model, (no changes in body design between the years) almost new, no damage, $25.00 U pay shipping......I can provide photos if needed. Be safe. (Installation instructions included).

I would go with Huskys. Lifetime guarantee can come in handy when you least expect it...

I went OEM, there are plenty of on-line Toyota Dealers that discount pretty heavy.

I went oem, since the dealer threw them in with everything else. I have oem on my 04 tacoma and thought they were very good quality. The 4runner mudflap/guards are a tad disappointing, but maybe of my own making as I lifted the truck and have pretty meaty duratracs on it. One problem is I had to trim them on the inside to keep the tires from rubbing them in a tight turn. But the disappointment comes in when I see the side of the truck after driving in slush and water. Very dirty and high up on the passenger door area to just below the windows actually. On my tacoma with the same size lift there is very little high up splash back. Oh well, I'd be interested in getting the tacoma ones to fit the 4runner, but it doesn't look like they'll fit well. I also have removed the running boards as I don't like that look. Is there any type of slider that would prevent splash back at all? My oem flaps /guards look ok just not as functional as I would like. Also, wtf's up with the back window getting so dirty? I thought the rear flaps would prevent most of that grime.

You could always go on McMaster carr's website and order plastic sheet and make your own flaps like rallyarmor Subaru flaps, make them as big or long as you want.

I would recommend using a flat mud flap if you off road, my mud flaps on the late-model tacoma had a 3-D shape and they tore off the truck the first time I drag them over a rock.
