'14 LE Chrome Reduction

I've been thinking about a front end treatment to reduce the braces look. I may try some Plasti Dip gunmetal grey now that I have the Photochop preview below. While it won't match the Magnetic Grey it will tone down the chrome a bit. Opinions?

Could cost too much, but I'd at least check on getting it painted to match the body color.

I like the idea, tho.

I'm going to check with a local body shop on the paint cost after I dip it and see if I like it enough to go that route.

Of all the 14' models the LE looks the best IMO and this makes it look that much better.

I will snap a pic of the dip test run. I hope I can get it sprayed on Saturday before I head to Boston for a week on Sunday. If not, it will be another week. BTW, love the blue 4Runners.

I was almost tempted to do the same last week but only plasti dip the rear chrome black. I've bought the grey with the glossifier

I'm having a hard time finding the Gunmetal Grey or the Anthracite locally. I've been to WallyWorld, Advance Auto and Ace. I guess I'll order it from Amazon.

I also have a '14 LE in Magnetic Grey. This chrome reduction has been on my mind on and off for awhile now and this picture just helped me out A LOT.

I plan to take my vehicle to a professional and have them match the factory paint.

I've wanted to color match the chrome bar on the front of my LE since I first laid eyes on her! So I'm subscribing to this thread! I may get a wild hair and take her to a shop for a quote one of these days lol!

I don't know about in Maryland but down here Pep boys has the largest selection of plastidip. I've also been able to find some of the colors at lowes and home depot. That said, my dad ordered the pink that I used on my 4R from dipyourcar.com (it was part of my christmas present).

I finally got rid of the majority of my chrome on my 2014 Blizzard Pearl this weekend with Plastidip. Can't get rid of the chrome inside of the tale lights or mirrors. I wrote a pretty lengthy article on the thread
