Spend much time in Seattle? We see the sun maybe 3 months out of the year. Had a 2000 sport edition with the hood scoop prior to the FJ. Not a concern.

This is true. I'm in Seattle, have a 3rd and 5th gen both with scoops and have yet to see the glare of death.
