15 posts rule 2 cents

Nice to meet you..from reading this post, that appeared to be what most were doing...so now I have posted in the New Members area and updated my garage...

Is it 15 posts until you can start a thread?

I am new here and after 12 years of sports cars only, I have a 4Runner in addition to sportier cars.

Usually, on a car forum, I do an introduction and inquiry post. It introduces myself, my auto background and helps with noob questions that a search and hours of reading may or may not help with.

Is there a ask your (noob) questions here thread?

Not really since people here are nice. If you ask a question that is considered "general knowledge" the people here are cool and will still answer politely. Other forums people will rip you apart, but not here. Any question is a valid question!

Seriously, I can’t find 1 thread, much less 15 threads to say anything in without feeling like I’m “littering” the thread. I literally feel like I’m littering this one. But here I am, number 4.

unfortunately you will find rude people in every forum. Mostly because they are know-it-alls and believe they are above everyone else...I haven't come across that yet in this forum, and I hope I don't!

The 15 posts rule seems a little excessive at first glance, since I have burning questions regarding my (tentative) plans to acquire a 4runner.......but I'm thinking it's just an investment in a place which (if I do decide to go this route), will probably be a steady source of reliable information/guidance/advice for years and years. So I'm okay with it. And there's #1!
Nothing stops you for searching for similar threads and posting your comments and questions there as long as you don't derail the thread
