Nothing stops you for searching for similar threads and posting your comments and questions there as long as you don't derail the thread

This! I highly doubt someone will have a question on the forum that has not already been asked. The collective knowledge of this forum is mind-boggling.

Heck I don't mind waiting. I understand why there is a "magic" number before being able to start a post. Keeps the bots and trolls down to a manageable level. This seems like a really nice forum and I'm looking forward to starting new threads.

I kinda have to agree with those who think 15 is a bit excessive. For many of us (myself included), it'll mean I'm going to look for opportunities to chime in somewhere simply so I can post something to classifieds and/or ask questions - isn't THAT the real reason we join a forum like this - to get answers and target specific sections of the population?
I understand it's to cut down on bots, but I'm not sure the quantity is necessary to do that adequately.

Honestly i kind of like it. Right now i am on my 15 post train so i make make a thread, and instead of spamming random forums, i have spent time searching around finding threads i actually want to reply to, and in turn i have found some cool topics i wouldn't of found otherwise.

LMFAO!!
I'm working on 10th...I think... I'm alright with it, I guess....weeds out all the millennials that want it now and complain why they can't have it NOW!
And of course..don't make me work for it, how dare you!!
Alright, that's enough from me....lol

Agreed

My questions are pretty specific. I run into issues because I am a complete noob both in off-road techniques and in modification to the 4Runner. I honestly only want to ask pointed questions and get direct answers, but hopefully the 15 comes sooner rather than later.

I am going to disagree that it's too many.

I find other forums that I belong to for my other vehicles the quality of users on all the other forums is terrible. I've tried reddit and it's the least friendly site i've encountered.

This forum has the best users with the best knowledge base (exceptions apply). Yes you'll get some flack for posting about lowering your T4R so your frame can't get over a speed-bump, but you will not get hack answers, but truly engineering minded answers.

Hitting 15 posts by the way does not require much effort: want to know something about your T4R, do a search and find a thread related: Then ask the questions you think might be "dumb" or "stupid" because I guarantee you: Someone else is thinking about the same question or questions.
