I'm looking to get Ultra Mavericks in 18 x 9 (and planning to put P265/70/18 Bridgestone AT Revo 2s on them). These wheels come in a +12mm or a -6mm offset, and wondering if anyone has views on either configuration.
According to this calculator, the +12mm version will extend out about 1.0 inches (25mm) farther than the stock 20" wheels, and the -6mm version will extend out about 1.7 inches (43mm) farther than stock. See screenshots below. I'm wondering if being 1 inch out or 1.7 inches out will make that much of a difference, but am inclined to go with the -6mm offset wheels absent any issues.
I found one post on the forum where PopsSmith put 18x9s with 0 offset, which I think looks great. According to the calculator, the -6mm offset wheel I'm looking at would be about .25 inches out farther. I really hate the look of the stock wheels/tires on the limited, especially from the rear, where the tires look so far inside from the sides of the truck.
Any thoughts? Would be great to know of any issues before dropping the cash on new wheels and tires. Doesn't seem like it will rub or look like a roller skate, but I'd be grateful to know if anyone thinks otherwise.
In anticipation of getting trolled for not searching, I have searched and found helpful posts like this one and this one. I'm posting because not a lot of the posts relate to LTD trucks, and I'm interested in knowing how all of the stupid body work on mine will impact the look of wider/offset wheels.
