1987 T4R for sale-ish Please comment

I am thinking of selling my 87 4runner. I need to ask OPINIONS on what it may be worth.
So here is the poo..

1987 Auto 4x4 4cyl.

Mods:
ARB Bumper Font
PRG Winch Front
PRG HID Off-Rad Lights Front
Homeade rear bumper


The Odd:
The last owner blew the motor and installed a 22R so the kickdown does not work so the automatic has to be shifted manually.

Push Button Start

The Bad:
Paint is good at 15+ feet
No rear wiper arm

The Good:
Comes with hard top and Bikini Top
Interior is complete
Brakes are new-ish
NO rust
Current reg and inspection.
Matching new spare
SR5 cluster


I just need to know if this thing is worth even trying to sell, Ideally I would like to get 2700 out of it since I literally just did the bumper, winch, and lights to the tune of over 1200 bucks. Am i out of line?

Miles say 89k but the motor has been replaced and when I bought it, the speedo did not work.

Here are some pics I took along the way....I stripped the pink paint that was on it and rattle canned it red. with red primer.

I'm going to disagree - with a rattlecan paint job, gauge funkiness, and an oddball motor/trans combo leading to odd shifting, I think you're dreaming at $2700. Take away the front bumper and that's a $1400 truck, tops. With the bumper and winch, maybe $2000 but I think you'd do better to part those out, you'll get more.

I agree, I'd say you're looking at around 2 grand for it in its current state.

I was afraid I was thinking too high. Perhaps I will try to fix the rear window, and try again to figure out the gauge thing. I just don't want to dump more money into it to raise the value a tiny fraction.

there no fixing the manual shift automatic tranny without putting a EFI motor and ECM back in the truck.

Some thoughts - fixing the "little stuff" like the gauges and rear window will certainly bring the value up. Those are first impression type things and you'll get a big return in terms of market value for having them functional.

The shifting thing hurts you too, and you're right, there's nothing easy to fix that. Have you considered a swap to a manual trans? That'd be easier than converting the block to EFI or putting a 22RE in, and cheaper too. Do that, and get the rear window and gauges functioning, and you'll be far closer to the $2700 you want, and it probably won't cost much more than whatever you spend on a used W56 and transfer case...

Of course once you do all that you'll have a sweet little truck. You just might have to keep it.

Oaky she is for sale as of today, Asking 2400 with bumpers, or 1800 without.

I fixed the gauges and added the SR5 cluster in the process. The back window still does not go up and down unless i run power directly to it.

She comes with the hard top and a new bikin top (have not installed yet), comes with CB W/PA

Both of the pictures above are from this weekend so they are as current as it gets. Just got it TX inspected about a week ago..

Looks like a good price. Hopefully this one sells quicker than your 2003 haha. Also I'm sure you've checked but make sure you have a connector hooked up in the driver side back area near the tailgate. I had that loose once and I couldn't figure out why the window didn't go up. Sorry I'm extremely vague, but it was 10 years ago I had my 1st gen.

You may already be aware of this but I noticed your current pics are topless so I'll chime in. One of the bolt holes for the hard top on the driver side is a safety. If the bolt is out the switch opens and the window will not work. Just giving you a heads up.

I had to unplug all of my modules clean them with air and put some electric grease in connectors and the window started working again . I started by bypassing every thing and verifying window motor worked first. Maybe you can get lucky, good luck with sale !

I also bought a new bikini top this week and installed it...

Please say yes, I got sell this one fast, I do have a new matching spare tire and wheel that have never hit the road.
