1st gen gauge cluster swap

Hi, I have an 87 4runner dlx and I found an sr5 gauge cluster with tachometer, heat, oil and fuel, but when I plugged it in to my 4runner, only the temp gauge worked. I didn't even drive it to see if the speed worked, but didn't really care at that point. Anybody have shy ideas or help as to what the problem might be? Thanks

For the oil pressure to work you'll need to swap your oil pressure sender on the engie to the SR5 sensor. As for everything else, they should all work. There have been some rumors of certain tach's not working. do a search and you'll come up with all sorts of info on it.

You probably don't have the wiring for the tach, but that's easy to add.
But if you used the stock oil pressure sending unit (for the idiot light), you may have damaged the oil pressure gauge. The rest should have worked.
