Thank you. So looks like the only difference is the logo on the back.
Looks to be the same one from the original post. However, is different from what is posted on their ebay. The photo on ebay looks to be two piece, top and botton with the LED light on the top right. The actual product looks to be 4 pieces with the LED light right next to the middle button.
Right. That's exactly why I was curious what the front looked like. I'm actually glad that it seems to be the same as the other ones.
Btw, did you say the blank key came unattached from the fob?
Yup, blank key was loose. Package came with Fob, unattached blank key and 2 roll pins.
Interesting. Guess that'll make it easier to get the blank cut.
Thanks I ordered one of these, I ordered the original one in the thread but as others have noted its pretty bulky. I carry all my keys all the time and its a lot to stuff in a jeans pocket. Also I keep pressing buttons when its in my pocket, I had to glue the panic button down as it kept setting off the alarm from in the house and it would also wind down the back window when i sat down if my keys were in my pocket. Looks the VW one is much smaller so I will give that a shot.

got it really quick since i'm in CA. key cut. programmed. works like a charm except the buttons are quite easy to press.
Agreed the buttons are too easy pressed in that remote especially the panic button. I just changed mine for the VW one in the thread and its half the size and way harder to press by accident, you actually have to press it for 1/2 second for it to activate which IMHO is much better in the pocket. You can reuse the same blade in the VW remote if you swap so no need to re cut the key.
Ok, some help or thoughts. I ordered a set of flip keys, I already have the fob programmed to work. I went to program the transponder and have run into issues. I have an 05 srs. I don’t have the immobilization light on my dash... ace cut the blanks, but had someone who didn’t know how to use the machine right. One key will not rotate in the ignition and one will get it to crank, but not roll over. On the flip keys the transponder is in the fob, correct? I’m afraid I might have to buy new blanks and fobs and start over.
If it cranks but does not start, the transponder in the fob is not programmed.
And the chip that is being programmed is inside the fob body correct? I was following the service bulletin page 8 method from here.

My review switching to this new keyfob;
I completed this with the 'newer' flip keyfob.
Upgraded Flip Ker Remote for Toyota keyless entry clicker fob HYQ12BBX DOT CHIP | eBay
I had my local Ace cut the key (for free) and used 'page 8' from the previously shared pdf that i've attached here again.
This worked right off the bat so then i used the regular keyfob programming instructions you can find on here elsewhere.
I switched back to the OEM keyfob/key setup
I did this for two reasons,
1. The newly cut keyfob blade would not turn the rear hatch lock either direction. This could be because the key is just not as worn down, but it wouldn't take.
2. I couldn't reach into my pocket and know by feeling which was the lock, unlock, and roll down window. I guess I got really used to not having to look at the keyfob, so it wasn't worth it to me.
7/10 would be a fine setup if I didn't already have a perfectly fine OEM setup.

I like the look of this one.
If you get one, let us know how it is. I'm pretty satisfied with the original VW-style one so I'm going to stick with it.

Does anyone know what the blank key model number is for the switch blade? The first locksmith messed it up and I would just like to order a blank switch blade key.

Yes the chip for the immobilizer is in the fob body. When you get a new all in one fob you have to run 2 procedures to get it to work. First you need to program the original fob functionality which enables open, lock, rear window and then you need to program the immobilizer which lets the car start.
You have to hunt around for both both sets of instructions there are some variations, I found some work and some do not based on which fob you get i.e. the Chinese fob I got I used one set but they did not work for the VW fob I got for some reason.

My still new to me 2003 4R only came with one key and one fob, so I needed some spares. Fortunately, the one key is a master.
I bought 2 of these remotes after reading thru this thread - Upgraded Flip Ker Remote for Toyota keyless entry clicker fob HYQ12BBX DOT CHIP | eBay
Took the blanks to my local Toyota dealer and ended up buying another spare original key while I was there since they only charged $30 for them. They were able to cut the new key and both the flip blanks using the key code. $32 out the door with tax.
Got home and I was able to successfully program the new Toyota key and one flip fob for the immobilizer chip. I guess it will only take 3 total. I was also able to program the flip fob remote for lock, unlock and to open the hatch window.
I have been trying to reprogram the fobs to unlock all doors with a single press but haven't been able to do that successfully. I like the flip fob tho. Not too bulky and everything on it works as it should. Getting the roll pins in was a pain tho.
