2 quick Questions for 285/70/R17 for TEP

Been reviewing the Tire chart last few days and I have a couple followups I couldn't find via search. I like the idea of the 285/70 over the 255/80...

Will the 285/70/R17 fit properly on the TEP wheel give its a half inch wider than others? (17x7.5) Or do I need a true 17x8 or 17x9? I'm not to the lift/wheel spacer part of my research yet...

Will that tire fit in the standard spare-tire location? Or does it need to move to a dedicated tire carrier on the bumper or inside the cargo area, etc...

it will fit on a 7" or 7.5" wide wheel

it will also fit in the stock spare location.

I'm running 285/70/R17 on stock rims and my rig is lifted with Spider traxx 1.25 spacers. It did rub when doing full turns but I did a little trimming to stop the rubbing ;-)

it didnt rub until i added the spacers

Thanks for info! Followup...why did you add spacers if it didnt rub? I thought spacers were only used to keep tire from components and stop rub???

with spacers you will prob need to chop the body mount some. Easy to do with an angle grinder.

Spacer will give you a wider stance with skinny stock rims. However this creates an issue where your wheel is 1.25" or 1.5" further away from hub. At full lock right or left this will place wheel in contact with fender liner in front or body mount in rear. I have 17x9 aftermarket rims with 285/70r17 with no rubbing. I don't have a crazy wide stance but it works for me at this time. So spacers have nothing to do with rubbing the UCA. Unless u plan on bigger than 285's

I think the consensus is 1.25" or 1.5".
