Opted to go back to an All Terrain tire in order to run year round. The KM2's sure where good looking, but I didn't want to run in the snow here in Colorado.

Opted for the Falken AT3W 285/75/17 mounted to the new Relations Race Wheels R2 17x8.5. *Note, these wheels do not fit 4th Gen 4runner hub dust shields. They only worked since we ran spidertrax with them. Not happy with the RRW sales guy about this oversight*

Tires are nice and big, quiet on the roads. The sidewalls aren't as burly looking as the KM2s or Duratracs, but overall they are nice looking tires for a great price.

Great choice on the new tires! I still love mine. Think they look great in that size on your rig too. I found them to be slightly larger than similarly sized AT so betting those look huge in person.

The SPC's seem to be ok - I had replaced the bushings about 20k ago. I will say they do make some noise - I tend to spray grease on them once a week.

The LCA's I used from Mevotech might be shot already after about 10k miles. I get a lot of clunks and squeeks out of them, and I'm assuming the bushings have too much play in them already.

Yes, the 285/75/17 Falkens look pretty big. I've had 2 people in the paste 24 hours come up and ask if they were 35's. Driving today - man, they sure are smooth and quiet. Such a nice bonus.

Just to add my 2 cents, I installed my set in 2012 and had a major failure last year, albeit common point of failure. My arm separated at the bushing seam (where it mounts to the frame). To my horror, and after a 150 miles road trip on the interstate, I noticed the UCA moving freely on the front weld seam (rear was still in tact). Although I was out off warranty, SPC sent me a brand new set within a few days, no questions asked other than requesting a pic. Take that for what you will. I've had zero issues since but I do make a point to check them occasionally, always a good practice when running upgraded suspension.

I've been tracking down an annoying rubber/bushing sounding squeak under compression and think it might be their bushings. Upgraded the F and R swaybar bushings too so know its not that. What do you spray yours with? I'm about to just coat mine weekly.

Haha, sounds about right. Assuming I don't necessarily need the MT, I always prefer an AT, even in the all-important appearance category (look fatter IMO). These have been the best ATs I've ran to date. Just rotated them with a little over 5k miles and they're still as quite and smooth. They may still wear fast but a lot of the initial wear shock was due to people starting out with 13/32 instead of 14/32 as advertised by Falcon. Time will tell...

Looks perfect! Planning to switch from my 285/70s Wildpeaks to them in 285/75 when next due. Hope you love your Wildpeaks as much as I love mine, great performer at the price point, especially if they hold up long term. Paid under $600 mounted for mine

I too had some bushing squeak. I bought new bushings and swapped them out, squeak is now gone. Once I pulled them, I did realize the bushings were just fine. Looked to me like the washer and bushing is where the squeak was coming from. That being said, every 10k or so it might be a good idea to slap a little grease between washer and bushing. That's what I plan to do.

Interested in these tires for the longer run. My last experience with Falken wasn't the greatest. Had the Rocky Mountain/Wildpeaks, they were lacking in everything. I am interested in going back to the smoother/quieter true A/T world as well.

I thought this too but found out that the alignment shop wasn't torquing the LCA bolts tight enough, or that they'd loosen over time. Torqued back up and the clunks went away. 17k miles on mine now.

Ha, so I just checked my LCA bolts - and sure enough they weren't tight. I wrenched these down and the clunks/squeeks sound like they have gone away.

On other news - these Falkens AT3W are really starting to prove their worth. Super quiet and smooth on road, and good traction off road.

Glad to hear you're still liking them. I'm about to roll over 10k on them. Just had them rotated and still super quite. Got around 10-11/32" showing. Not bad as they came with 13/32nds.

I love living out west. We completed our annual desert trip covering new ground in one of the most remote areas of the lower 48 states. 938 miles round trip, and 101 miles of red dirt. Poison Springs Canyon to Lands End to the Flint Trail out Hans Flat road. One of the most desolate areas I've seen - packed full of amazing vistas and land. The point of this trip for me was to better understand what 'public lands' means to me. If you haven't been following, the Utah "government" basically wants to drill this land. In my opinion, after seeing and living it, I'm fully supporting protecting Utah's BLM land and preserving it for future recreation. This place has a majic that can't be described. It's humbling. It's simple and so complex at the same time. For my future kids to experience this land is important to me, as it reminds me how grand life and process is. I hope all of you get a chance to experience and appreciate this land the same way. Forget oil dependence. This is a human dependence. This is why I got into the "overlander" experience. To share why we need to protect our lands, and not rip them of their purity. We often hype up the "build of our trucks", but in the end, we should do so in order to experience the simplicity of where we end up being able to go with them as a community. That's my "Trail" badge - seeing places I appreciate and want to protect for future generations.
