Need help please, sorry if this question has been asked before. I've done a lot of searching on this and was unable to find the exact answer I'm looking for. Here goes I have a 2008 limited 4runner with nav, its the V8 model with the tow hitch. What i want to do is put the RAS system on it, the 2 blank spots are there for the system. I do tow a motorcycle occasionally on the back, its not a trailer as all the weight is on the tongue. I'm not over weight on the tongue, but the 4runner really squats with it on the back. This does cause me stability issues at highway speeds. Also I do mild off roading nothing crazy just weekend warrior type stuff, dont wanna damage it. So i'm looking for a some help with this.:ybrick:

1 - With the RAS or (comparable) system will I lose the nice suspension ride I currently have with the stock setup on the 08 limited 4runner?
2 - Does the air ride system replace the springs and struts etc with air bags?
3 - Can you provide me with part numbers for the kit, and or anything that I would need to install a complete OEM system in as if it came from the factory with this option; Websites, part numbers, old links with this info, etc?
4 - Is there a better air system in the after market that you would recommend instead of the OEM one? If so can you provide a link or part numbers so i can research?
5 - This truck i just purchased within the last 6 months; it has 14K miles and the extended warranty. So i'm thinking it probably will have to be the OEM system as to not void the exteneded warranty on bumper to bumper & power train

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated, part numbers, website links, toyota pdf's, manauls, etc old post with all any info that coulfd help me. I apologize if this has been answered many times before, like i said i searched before and couldn't find something that fit exactly what I'm looking for that matched the setup I'm looking for. Absolutely no way I would try to add the OEM RAS. You'll be looking at $2000 or more by the time you buy all the parts, and that's even with buying them at a discount parts site. With the OEM setup, you do not have rear coils, only air bags, ride quality isn't as good IMO (I have the stock RAS). With the OEM system, you have no manual control at all. It auto-levels and that's it (both sides at once, no individual control). Not to mention, the stock system is very prone to failure up in your area.

You would be much better served by an aftermarket system. It would be much more reliable, a fraction of the cost, not impact ride quality, and also offer more control. These bags go inside your stock coils. You leave them at about 5psi which makes no difference in ride quality. You can get a full AirLift setup with bags and an auto-level kit, including a wireless remote to manually adjust, for $500ish (that's a guess, shouldn't be any more though). They have kits that do both sides at once, or you can get a kit that allows individual control for each side (little more money, worth it to me though). In addition, they offer some really good rebates right now. Check out autoanything.com for pricing/options, just be advised that you should call to verify the item is in stock before ordering.
