2009 Info / new Trail Edition T4R

What do you guys think the price tag will be like on the 2009 Trail Teams 4Runner? Im undecided, Im thinking it'll be a bit more expensive than the FJ TT but with gas being as high as it is, might still be able to get a good deal on one.

I cant wait to see what its going to look like, they should have some pictures and more information out by the fall I'd assume.

No .
the brakes remain the same: the larger 13" rotor like the SE and FJ get
They change the back-space/off-set to clear the caliper .
The same wheel can be found on the FJ (16").

The suspense is killing me, I hope some pictures get released soon. Do you guys think we'll see some pictures in the fall sometime? or earlier?

Im going to do everything I can to get myself into one of these TT 4Runners when the time comes.
 
This has really peaked my interest . I love my V8 but this sounds pretty cool and wouldn't mind having the 6 at all with these goodies.

If it does come out I'd wait until the dealers have a few on the lot that are not moving before I would dive into negotiations .

If I was going to buy a Trail Team FJ ( it's the white one with black trim ) I have 3 to choose from locally that have been sitting a while. Hopefully for a buyer of the Trail edition 4R this will be the case too. I'd be ****** if I was going to pay retail price for the 1st one on the lot. :D

Maybe if I had big $$ like Thai .....lol .

You're mistaken...with what my G500 gets and high gas prices these days, i am forced to eat bread crumbs and cleaning windshields under bridges. :p

BTW, i am a BIG fan of the 2008 FJ TT SE!! It looks freaking awesome!

I like the projected power numbers on the Ironman Tundra, but the price tag of $8-20k more, I could get myself another small car.

I just merged the three 2009 Trail Edition threads into one giant thread and made it a sticky in the 4th gen sub-forum.
 
I was at the dealer yesterday and asked the GM about this , although he did not deny it , he was kinda not willing to spill info about it. He said its a rumor he also heard.

Although a V8 fan , I would get this even if it only had v6 if it ever comes to surface . ( and if I could afford to )

I would be thrilled to have a VSC off/on switch , rear locker , 2wd/4wd selector , Atrac - ( maybe it will also have a switch like the FJ ) and the other goodies like 16" rims/tires.

In the mean time I plan on keeping my V8 . Well see if it's out by the Feb 09 lease is up.

I know you were looking into this a while ago as a mod to your '06. Just curious if you were ever able to get anywhere with it. I remember asking my dealer as well, shortly after I heard about the '08's having this option, but they told me they couldn't do anything. Maybe that has changed. I'll probably check with them again next time I'm in....

I saw a post & diagrams about it on another board but it was a crap shoot if it would work and the wiring ect , was beyond my skill to figure out.

Yeah, the only way I would do this is if the dealer would do it. I'll check again with them soon...

Can't wait to see some pics of this new TE if it comes to fruition. Anyone know when Toyota typically updates their website with the next model year. I seem to remember it was about this time last year that they updated it with the '08's, but I could be wrong.
 
Im getting impatient.

but anyways, what I've heard last from the sales manager at a locale Toyota Dealership was that they would start getting the 2009 4Runners around the end of October. Im not sure how accurate this is.

I also asked him if he knew anything about a Trail Teams Edition and he said that he didnt.

Im sure he was just avoiding answering the question for whatever reason.

I hope we get some pictures and information about the 2009's soon.
 
I find it difficult to beleive that any dealer in the U.S could have a 2009 already when the production year typically begins in August for the 4Runner and it is only the second day of September. I thought I recall it takes atleast 2 weeks to sail from Japan to port and then there is travel time from port to dealer on the auto carrier.

Back in 05 When I got my 06 that was built on 8/05 it arrived on the dealers lot in mid October and the dealer was only about 10 miles from port of entry which was Long beach California
