Thai , does it have any pictures if the TE ?

Yes, one big picture of it...and one small picture of interior.

One note: the 16" rims comes with 265/70/16 tires. This is stock size (31"). Apparently, i guess Toyota knows that putting 265/75/16 (32") would increase the chance of rubbing (esp. if they put on BFG AT KO, as they do in FJ Trail Team Edition). In addition, 32" may not fit in the spare tire location.

You notice they changed the rear window switch? Instead of on dash it next to gear selector?

WHOA! $35k starting, I sure hope that's not USD. I think that's where the V6 Limited starts. At any rate, I'm sure they are not going for MSRP, maybe even less than invoice.

The information was apparently updated. There's a link to the configurator on that article and the price works out to be $33,805. Who knows? If the markets keep tanking, maybe the price will drop tomorrow!

I'd really have to see one in person. The rear locker w/ATRAC in front and rear in nice . The TomTom nav I can do without. To many horror stories. Not having Xreas and 16" wheels , I can go either way. Easier to replace shocks and springs since the suspension does not seem to be a big deal in difference from the non Xreas / SR5.

Although I'm excited about it and feel it's taking the 4R in a positive direction for the off road adventure crowd and give a good platform to build off of .

I wonder if that's Auto up and down or just down like previous years. I personally prefer it on that dash but that's just me.

I don't think so...the 2008 special edition FJ has another type of rim (powder coat black). The '09 4runner TE rims are the same as those FJ with the "all-terrain package."

The more I hear/read about it the more kind of disappointed I get . With the exception of a rear locker which is ok for those who need it , I'm not overly impressed with anything else.

The RL is nice to have as a back up , but the more a have run the ATRAC though is off road paces I feel a less need for it.

Time we'll tell when I drive one .

The Nav systems are to expensive to have an in dash/removable , when I can pick up a portable one for a couple hundred bucks . If you ever need to replace that stock head unit with the TomTom in it with a factory one it will cost thousands $$.

I agree...Tom Tom is not a good NAVI unit to begin with. If i were to get this Trail Edition, then the first mod is to dump the Tom Tom to Ebay. Then, i can get a normal headunit and upgrade the sound system from there. Any Garmin or Magellan portal unit will be better than Tom Tom.

This trail edition runner looks like crap. I like the sport much better. The new nav unit is a down grade from the previous year. Unless they still offer it. The only nice thing is the rear and the power points (not the back window button).

I wonder if the rear locker is improved. If I understand some older T4R's, Taco's and foreign market units fail. Something about crushing spacers in the diff... I hope they got it right. The last thing T4R's need on the TE is to get the rep for blowing diffs when guys put on 285/75/16's.

This has been apparently fixed. Actually, early FJ Cruisers had weak rear diff gear (bad batch?).

2009 info has finally been released on the Canadian website. No surprise that there is no change from last year. We still don't get the Urban Runner and we don't get the Trail Edition either. All we get to choose from are:

SR5 V6
SR5 V6 Sport Edition
Limited V6
Limited V8

That's all the models available to us again. The SR5 V8 was discontinued after 2007.

Wow, that's terrible. The only way to get a V8 is the top of the line.
