Happy to contribute.
The Trail was very "trucky" in a good way, if that makes sense. Side by side, my 07 Sport looked "soft" next to the Trail.
I'd swap the 07 Sport for the 10' Trail on the spot. Maybe when my lease is ending in March, I'll take a serious look.

I think it looks pretty good, better in some ways than the 4th gen. but not in other ways if that makes sense?
Now I understand VERY few will buy it and mod it right off the bat however the body lines don't appear that they will blend with aftermarket bumpers. If you could fab a front tube bumper on that bad boy and you would have great approach angles. I would have rather seen a straighter line from the wheel wells to the grill.

Where is this?!? There are NONE in CO.
In TE trim it looks cheaper than a 4th gen for some reason. In limited trim it looks alot more upscale than a 4th gen. I guess that makes sense. It still has a Highlander/Tacoma front end. I see a little FJ in the mix also.

I was thinking maybe the rear would be easier to come up with an aftermarket bumper (vs 4th gen).?.. Maybe just replacing the part that is grey-cladded.?..
I like the Trail over the SR5 and Limited, for sure.

It looks cheaper than the 4th gen, or any previous gen for that matter. Still not feelin' the love for this thing. To me it looks like a Highlander on steroids had a one-nighter with a Honda Pilot. The only color that the 5th gen remotely looks good in is silver, and only on the TE.
I see Toyota is still using the same crap OEM tires. Those TE wheels are UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGLLLLLYYYYY.

Are the rear mudflaps part of the bumper?? It looks that way in the picture.

I went over to steveinson toyota in golden the other day. They said they aren't getting them in till late december. :moping:

Tough call. Yes, BFG would have been nice...but many people would prefer to let the manufacturer put on cheap tires (= thus, lowering MSRP on the vehicle) and then pick their own tire for the trail after buying the 4runner. Some may not want BFG AT KO and would rather put on Mud-Terrains for instance.

In 2003 the 4th generation 4runner Sport came out with cheep plastic bumpers and side fenders, Toyota for this generation Trail Edition is doing the same. Look in the pics no color keyed rear view side mirrors? no black color keyed bumpers? back to cheep grey accents? that's why many of you are saying it looks cheep Toyota is going to have to learn its lession again with this trail edition and stop trying to cheep on it likes it's a Nissan Xterra.
