2010 Running boards

I just bought my 1st Toyota and really like it compared to the Pathfinders I have owned. However, the running boards the dealer installed were factory Toyota parts but the darn things are so far up under the truch that there's only room for half of my foot. The dealer said there's nothing they can do so I called Toyota and they tod me the same thing...only 1 bracket was made for it Almost $600 down the drain because they are almost worthless. Do any of you have the same problem? Any suggestions for being able to pull the out any?

I have the same issue but better than nothing and also the car is very nice with the running board.

Do you have a pic? I have them, and getting half your foot on them sounds about right. I would think that if the boards stuck out much further than that, you may have issues with having them torn off accidentally.

I have mine adjusted all the way out to where it looks as if its just out more than the tires. I get about half my foot on it also. If I adjusted it all the way in I'd be kicking my sideskirts everytime.

Unfortunately, that is the design we are left with on the factory boards. It's not the best design. But, overall this isn't a terrible compromise. No vehicle is perfect.

There might be some aftermarket boards or sliders with steps we could look to for an upgrade. I might. But, since I don't rock crawl, the boards are ok for now.

I just step on mine with my foot parallel to the RB - works for me. Don't think I'd want a RB so big as to be able to step straight on it.

IMO- if you're 5'5" or taller, you don't need the boards. (unless you're lifted of course)

My wife has no problems getting in and out, loading the kids in their car seats, etc...

True ..... well, that is if you won't mind wearing the seat bolsters out prematurely. I'm 5'9" and I use them every time in or out.
