I was channel surfing after the debates last night, and just HAD to pause on MSNBC (Ms NBC as Rush says).
I LOL'd at Chris Matthews, who was just livid over the Pres' performance - I thought he was going to blow a vein in his head. Gawd, I loved that!

In 1992 Bill Clinton received 90% of the black vote and was often referred to as the nations first "black president". Obama received an unprecedented 95% of the black vote in 2008. Do you honestly think that has nothing to do with race?

Yes.
However what Thai said was most Americans are voting for Obama bc he's black, which is a ridiculous statement and idea.

Ok. I get your point. Honestly, I think Obama being black motivated a lot of blacks to vote for him....or to get out and vote at all. And that's OK. It was a histiric moment. But I would like to think that many Obama voters will see they didnt quite get what was advertised.
I think much of the election in 2008 was as much a backlash against Bush as for Obama. And rightfully so IMHO.
