Had a clip come off the passenger side dash vent, and really dont want to take to dealer to fix.
How do you remove this vent?
Didnt want to pry or pull in fear of breaking something and then having dealer say they wont fix.
it is a 2012 sr5 model 4runner.
Thanks for anyhelp or links you can give

43 ppl have seen this post BUT no one can help??
Guess i will keep waiting.
AND yes i did do a search on the forum and fond nothing

All 43 people probably have no clue exactly what you are talking about, so how can they help? :)

There's two passenger side dash vents and not to mention I am not even sure what a "clip" is, why not just post a picture of what exactly broke...

Also, maybe you can try downloading the factory service manual at the link below and take a look to see if you might be able to figure it out yourself.

ok sorry you are right, should of done that.
the clip is the one that moves the ent side to side and up and down.
the veen is queation is the passenger side vent for the the hvac and stuff.
it is at the window in corner at door.

I think this is what you are talking about? If so get a thin nylon removal trim tool and try to pry at that and see if it comes out, it seems to be attached by 4 clips and no screws. Don't force it because technically the manual says you need to remove the glove box before this piece, so there might be some kind of flap on the vent unit that is held under the glove box. I don't remember what it looks like back there because it's been a while since I pulled the glove box.

If you need to remove the glove box it's a straight forward but tedious process, you need to pop off most of the passenger side garnishes, temporarily unscrew the airbag and then finally unscrew the glove box, so you might want to let the dealer handle that if you are not comfortable.

Good luck!
