I'm new to this site, wanted to share some comments vs. Tahoes. I have owned 2 of them. I drive 50K miles a year. I put 250K, 95% hwy miles, on my '04 Tahoe, good truck, replaced instrument cluster under warranty, other than that just regular maintenance. Truck still had original front brake pads at 250K miles. Gave this truck to my son and he put another 40K on it before heads started leaking. Found a 2010 Tahoe with 19K miles, at 145K started blowing white every now and then when I started up in the morning. I read about some valve issues with the 2010. Found a 2012 4Runner SR5, 2WD, leather, running boards, 16K miles at local chevy dealer. Worked out great, nice trade allowance on the Tahoe and good price on the 4Runner. The more I drive the 4Runner the more I like it. Firmer seats and ride vs. the Tahoe. I did notice the breaks, not a big deal, just different. I have not noticed the front end dive. 4Runner just as quiet as the Tahoe, I think a little quieter and better handling on bumpy roads, great vision, smooth shifting tranny, excellent power, like the downshift option from Eco to manual, and like the rear glass that rolls down, very cool. Pulls my 20' Stingray boat just fine. My one complaint is the radio on XM you have a hard time seeing what station you're on, very small fonts, and a lot of glare. And it doesn't make much sense to have volume controls on steering wheel when you have a huge volume control knob within inches of the steering wheel. And I do miss my auto fold out mirrors on Tahoe. The 4Runner is a nice riding truck look forward to seeing how it holds up at 250K miles. Go Cocks!
