Well they are already selling for $400 under invoice and doing a courtesy trade for me, they said floor mats are included in the price... I don't want to pull the walk card - maybe I'll sell on ebay.

I don't get why anyone would get an sr5 - since a trail is pretty much the same price?

3rd row...That's why I got it. Granted it isn't the greatest as far as comfort but you can throw the kiddos in the back ok.

I'll be 56 in September. I ain't given up yet. I've even started collecting Lego kits for the upcoming grand baby! Gives me a reason for a 2nd childhood.

I've always driven the hand me downs and made sure wifey had a nice car. Now that I can afford it I got what I want. Call me selfish. :madgrin:

I looked at Trails and SR5s extensively before I bought my SR5 4wd Premium. I live in the West TX desert and never do any sort of off-roading that would require the Trail options. An that $1,000 price difference that was mentioned above equated to me getting remote start & running boards which were not on any of the Trails I was interested in. So I think SR5s are perfect for some people like me and a necessary trim level. And the Premium package afforded me LOTS more options than my Chevy trucks ever had.

Back in 2008, I really wanted a sport edition ( for the hood scoop as well) but I found a super sweet deal on my SR5. The vehicle my wife was driving at the time was falling apart so I went with the great deal I got on my SR5. This time around, we both want the hood scoop because we missed out last time. Granted, the locker will be nice too. I ordered it with no KDSS.

I'll be honest though. My new TE probably won't see too many crazy trails. Although, my wife does travel to some parts of the Navajo reservation that have some pretty bad roads. I couldn't see myself taking a $35k vehicle to the trails. My 2008 will be doing most of the trail duty.

More importantly, retro-ed a second projector in each headlight, like BMWs....

HHmmm. I have had my 2014 T.E. since Dec and have yet to experience this phenomena I have read about. I guess the Teaxs sun is just not as bright or high in the sky as yours.:biggrin1:

Interesting...I live in Hawaii where it is sunny almost everyday and I too have not had this problem yet. I wonder if it depends on the color of the 4Runner...

I can attest to the hood scoop glare on my Super White TE. Generally only notice it in the morning as I'm driving east in to the sun. It's not an all-day phenomenon.

But it does look cool...

Anyone know where I can purchase a set of 2014 headlights? Other than dealership... trying not to get robbed by them. But I may have to this early after the new headlight release.
I just need a second set to experiment with a retro job.

Do you need them for an experiment only? I have a set that have damaged outer lenses

in the end, all 3 models cover about 90% of the demographics that Toyota wants to cover.

SR5 for those that want the basic and to get a foot into that segment (and also for those that want to mod the hell out of it)

TE for those that want to off road light/med (but don't want to mod extensively and throw money away replacing those oem systems)

LE for those that want to off road lightly with mostly on road luxury (and don't intend to mod at all or very light - I fall into this myself)

Not just experiment, basically I am going to try and retro in two projectors to each headlight (like some BMWs have), so I will be doing it blindly with no instructions.

I am actually doing the exact same project. I will be replacing the DRL with a mini Morimoto. Nothing internal is damaged. But the outside lens covers are toast

Awesome, Im glad Im not the only one crazy enough to try it. I just need a spare set of headlights to work on. I guess I will have to buy a pair at dealership... damn.

Question to all you '14 owners...

I am having trouble setting up the head unit to receive/show text messages. When I got into the phone settings, the "messages" selection is grayed out. I have already setup my phone bluetooth and can see contacts and recent calls.

Any help/advice?

Good deal. It's not perfect. My Pandora has trouble connecting from time to time.
