2014+ front end conversion -lets get this done!

An update. I was able to source out most parts needed for this conversion or at least the parts I think are needed lol. Next week those parts will come in and I will make a parts list and write up. For those of you wanting to do this, stay tuned and let's make this happen. [emoji38]

Just converted mine as well. Thanks all for the wealth of info available here. The job was not difficult, just took patience and multiple partnorders! Loving the look though.

Nice job! It looks great! Did you have any issues that you weren’t expecting or was it pretty straight forward?

Hmm...does this mean the reverse would be possible? I think the 2010-2013 trail front end is the best looking of all 4Runners haha.

Has anyone done the reverse by chance? As in, 2014+ to 2010+ trail edition. I love the older style look. If the swap is possible and there are any Black 2010-13 trail editions out there that want a 2014+ front end... let's talk

I just did the swap and have 2010 front end parts from a magnetic grey SR5 if you're interested, you'd just need to get the headlights. Located in San Jose area also!

I'd totally go backwards to a 2010-2013 Trail front end.. Matter of fact that's a future goal methinks.

Had some minor issues including: the 2010 radiator grille support bracket is not at the right height but I managed to use a long screw and washers to build a support for it. headlamp wiring harnesses required some splicing to get the correct receptacle. Ebay'ed it. Also the headlamps have these plastic support pieces that the bumper cover hangs off of which I didn't realize I needed. Trimmed the fender liner on both sides and threw out a ton of underbody plastic. other than that, it was pretty straightforward. Once u get all the pieces off of the car, it's easy to tell what needs to be done. Recommend having a second car

Thank you for the offer but I wouldn't want the hassle of repainting, and I don't like the SR5 front end. Black trail or bust, in exchange for a 2016 black trail front end.

Well, with mine it would be a little more than a swap since my TEP is super white and that was not a color available on the 2010-2013's. So I would have to get it painted to match best as possible before tossing it all together but I suppose the only paint work would be on the actual grill piece and bumper cover.

It could be a free mod for both parties too, just meet up and swap parts over the course of a day.

I'm in the middle of a retrofit and 2010 to 2014 conversion. Can you post info about the headlight swap. Specifically 2010 to 2014 DRL. What did you do there?
