I updated my first post with some pictures of the plasti dip work.
here's a better picture of the color and cutoff, i wanted both color and a nice cutoff.
I only saved the front part of the halgeon projector, here's how the front and back looks. I cut the back of the bowl from the part that mounts to the headlight bracket and used that to mount the LS projectors to.

should have put a daytime led strip where you painted the chrome arrow inside the headlight assembly.

That's the route I took when I did my retrofit on my '14 Unlimited last Spring. The Retrofit Source supplied all the hardware. Something they did that I thought was cool...the etched "UnLimited" on the main projector and added a second mini projector where the stock DRL was.

In case someone is interested in doing this retrofit. I have a pair of the GS350 projectors with clear lenses and modified for d2s bulbs already. So they would be ready to go for any retro.
The cutoffs are really clean and have tons of color
$60 shipped and I'll throw in a third projector that has a nonclear lens that you can use as a backup/mockup

Bump from the dead on this question. Thinking the same just for now, I'm going to buy another set of stockers and go to town with a retrofit with but I figure while I have the ones split I have maybe I can change the glass out. Anyone know the size of it? 2.25 or 2.5? Thanks!

I'm about to retrofit my headlights, does anyone have instructions on how to remove the headlamps from the car? I found out how to remove the bumper, but wanted to know about the actual headlamps.

Damn! Was hoping you did it yourself. I'm thinking of picking up a pair of TYC and retrofitting those and using TRS's glue to help reseal them so they don't leak.
Anyone else have any input?

Im doing this as we speak. Almost done actually. The TYC headlights are about 50% easier to open than OEM. This is a great option as I know have my original set of OEM's as back-ups should I not like my retro fit.
Just a word of caution on the TYC lights. The headlight housing is basically identical to the OEM (Minus a softer plastic they used on the black plastic back). Where TYC did there own thing was on the projectors. The internals are not close to the OEM ones and the lenses they use, although 100% clear (not ribbed), are taller than OEM.
I tested both the OEM & TYC projectors with an HID kit and there is no comparison. The OEM projector actually throws decent light and color with a properly spaced clear STi-R lens. The TYC throws garbage. Just basically scatters light everywhere in strange patterns and shapes.
I will post pics when im done.
I really like this, but I don't know if I could pull it off myself. After looking around online, I found some already done... but with a price tag of over 1000$!!!

$40 Lexus IS 350
$160 Morimoto Elite HID System
$280 TYC Headlights
$5 High Beam Splitter
$25 Solenoid wired up - HWH103
$17 Morimoto Glue
$45 STI-R Lenses
$5 QuikSteel
For a grand total of $577.
It's $480 for just the HID, the other $97 is "extra" icing on the cake.
So looks like they're charging ~$500 for labor.
