2014 LED tail lights

That middle plug does look identical but what about the other two in the 14' tail light pics that also connect to the lights.

That middle connector might be the same because of in the description of them for 14' "New LED tail lamps (filament turn signals; LED side light)"......the turn and brake lights take the same filament bulbs as ours do for the middle connector.We don't have the other 2 wired connectors on a 10-13' like it appears they do for the LED lights.

I am almost positive that those two plugs probably are a sub-harness which stems out from the taillight itself which get it's power from the big plug pictured. Kind of like how on our 10'-13' taillights, the power to the other bulbs is distributed via the turn signal socket. I think I've seen Toyota do this in other vehicles...

Thanks for the part numbers [MENTION=73139]N2GLOCK[/MENTION], it seems like they are only ~$240 each at online Toyota parts stores! I wonder if that is inclusive of all the sub-harnesses and what not though...now the real question is do I satisfy my curiosity and pull the trigger on a set???

Ask and you shall receive....Okay, heres the deal. According to my guy, there is a "rocker panel" and a "rocker moulding" I'm not sure what you want or need but here are the part #'s and prices based on a vin # from a '14 SR5. The part #'s and prices are as follows:

Right side rocker panel= 61311-35020 $226.96
Left side rocker panel= 61312-35020 $226.96

Right side rocker moulding= 75805-35130 $234.66
Left side rocker moulding= 75806-35100 $234.66

Hmmmm... maybe the 2014 SR5 uses the 2010-2013 Trail moulding.

Might just have to go with the Shrockworks Trail trim.

I called again for kicks and talked to someone else. Those 2 part #'s are correct. Looks like they're using 2010-2013 stuff in that area. I was hoping for a different answer as I to would like to make the switch.

Yep. looks to me that the other two are just jumpered together externally, rather than by, say a PCB within the housing. Lets be realistic, Toyota isnt going to revamp the body harness just for fancy tail lights. My '99 SR5 has unused plugs all over the place ! If someone with a '14 in the Lower Mainland wants to meet up with me, we can put this issue to rest!

Your probably right that there is a subharness for the LED sockets that feeds off the main harness. Here you can see the parts break down for the make-up of the 10-13 tail lights so we'll probably need that subharness and at least some sockets specific to the new ones.

Camelback Toyota has the cheapest place I found for those part numbers that N2GLOCK listed and free Fedex shipping and they do have a return policy. Now we just need a guinea pig with some extra cash!:bump2:

Okay guys and gals, I had a schematic faxed over to me this morning. When compared to the one that harper7 put up you can see some differences. It appears that there is a seperate sub-harness that needs to be purchased. I don't have a scanner so I took a pic of the schematic of the '14 tal lamp for all of you to see. Hope this helps.

good stuff. was talking to a parts guy as you posted this.

If you look back at the first page and the pics of the back of the lights....it looks like that subharness is IN the light. There is one plug on the truck side for both the 10 and the 14. It looks like there is one plug on the new light in exactly the same place as the old light and its the same 6 hole molex style plug with the same 5 wires.

My bet is these will literally Plug and play. Now that bet would could cost about 80 bucks as my dealer wants 20% restocking fee if they dont work.

Lots of people including myself wanna do the upgrade but we're all afraid that they may not work. They're kind of expensive to be experimenting with. I spoke to the dealer that we buy parts from and since it's considered to be a "special order item" I would have to pay a restocking fee. I'd be willing to take the hit but I just bought $800.00 worth of tires and the holidays are just around the corner.

Easiest way to find out is by someone that works at a Toyota dealership. I'm sure there are a few 10-13's on most lots. If anybody here knows a buddy that works at one, have him try it AT the dealership for free. Easy remove and replace. If I knew anybody, I'd buy him his fave beer for the trouble.

I had the same idea a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't say anything as I was afraid as to how fellow memebers might react. I can find out today what the restocking fee on one tail lamp is in the event I need to return it. If all goes smooth, I just keep the tail lamp and then order the other one after the holidays. If it doesn't work, then everyone that has commited to can chip in towards the restocking fee. The more people that commit, the less it will potentially cost each member. Let me know....If I can get enough people to commit, I can have a tail lamp here at my shop probably by the middle of this week.

Just got off the phone w/ the dealer as I had to order some Camry control arms. If I order the tail lamp today by 2pm I can have it delivered hear to my shop tomorrow morning. The restocking fee is $50.00 well....actually it's $47.70 to be exact but I rounded it up to make up for the paypal fees. A total of 5 members commiting to $10.00 ea. would do it.
