2014 scratches/cracks on engine block?

Gotta love how some people talk shit about Toyota cutting quality when they are actually looking at an upgraded part.It's not a show engine that they are going to polish the timing chain cover on it, so who cares what it looks like as long as it is stronger.

Who said anything about cutting quality? Cutting corners sure, quality no. Polish, no one said anything about polish either, at the very least, smooth it out, why not? When you are building 400,000 plus parts you think that cost is astronomical to do so?

Obviously people care what things look like, it denotes a certain level of... quality. If my Kimber 1911 im parts looked like that no one would buy another Kimber. If they didn't add food coloring to your Cheerios to turn them a color other than grey would you eat them? It doesn't effect the flavor.

The fact that some of you think that Toyota should actually sand casting marks out of engine blocks/heads just speaks to your ignorance on the subject.

While I claim to be no expert, I find this thread mildly amusing.
