2014 TE / USB & Audio Port Move.

I am repurposing the lower center panel in my 4runner and want to move the AUX input to the left side of the steering wheel. That is where my phone is most of the time anyway.

I took the panel apart today and found that the lead for that port is very short, and that it looks to be nonstandard. Does anybody know if there is a clean way to extend the cable? I am not familiar with the automotive plugs.

Does anybody recall a build thread that moved that port?

Thanks in advance.

You can always get a 3.5mm extension Cord/cable. Sold tons of places like Walmart Or Radio shack. If needed, get a USB extension too.

i am trying to extend the factory wiring so i can move the port. I might be misunderstanding you, but i dont think what you are suggestion gets me there.

What he is saying it to pull that port out, then put in an extension and mount the extension. Then leave the port behind the panel.
Otherwise, you will have to cut the wires, and extend them.
