2014 Trail edition premium

Hey Yall
I just bought a 2014 toyota 4runner trail edition premium yesterday. It wasnt even up in the dealers computer system yet. Thats how quick i acted upon it since these 4runners are hard to find up here in North Idaho. I dont get to pick it up until later this week because they have to put new tires and fix a bumper. Anyways

Got a couple of questions.

1. What size/brand of tires do you think I should get?
I would love to stick with the 17' tep rims, I do a lot of highway driving due to school and will be doing it even more starting in the fall.
I do some off roading so I am looking for a good price on them too. Trying to get a set for under $500

2. Where do you suggest I get accessories from that are priced decently?
I need a dog barrier
Heavy Duty Floor mats/cargo liner
and a few other things

I havent owned a 4runner in almost 4 years. And this is a big upgrade. I went from a 2000 Toyota 4runner Sport Edition/Texas Edition 4x2 - 2010 toyota rav4 base 4x4 and now back to the 4runner.

Any tips and tricks that youd like to share with me about this 2014 4runner?

1st, Welcome to the club

2nd, There is a wealth of information on the forum if you are willing to search, always start there then ask for details or follow up later

With the formalities out of the way;

There are so many possible tires out there that we can hardly make a recommendation based on your needs/wants. That said, I don't think expecting to pay $500 for a decent set of tires for the 4runner is realistic unless you are buying them used. What I would do is ask how much they are tossing into the pot for new tires then find what you want and toss in the difference. Example, the OEM tires that came on my 4runner I think were $168 each so if the dealer will pay that and then you toss in 50$ or so I would go for a set of A/T to keep some road manners while increasing tire durability.

Accessories like what you mentioned can be purchased anywhere and Amazon would likely be a good starting point. There are Vendors here who likely sell those items but most are geared more towards suspension parts, armor, etc etc

^^^ great suggestion for the tires. $500 will go a lot further as an upgrade at the dealer.

Usually Toyota dealers will stock Nitto's so you might be able to upgrade to a Terra Grappler, which aren't that expensive for an AT. I know the place I take mine uses Cooper Tires, so an AT3 is an awesome and affordable AT Tire (check this thread)

Also a new one out that is very affordable and gets great reviews is the Falken AT3/W. I was quoted at a local shop $155 per tire mounted and balanced.

I forgot to mention, for the all weather mats/cargo mats, most will steer you towards weathertech or husky brand. For the cargo area with the do (I'm assuming because of the dog barrier question) look into canvasback. Use the search and type in "5th gen" and one of those brands or what you are looking for in the search (but you already knew that because you read my post above and clicked on the link for "new and prospective owners" lol).

Where you located alyx? I just took off my Terra Grapplers off my TRD and selling them. Only had less than the 10k on them. I'm in Spokane WA
