2014 Trail Rocker Trim

[MENTION=89056]BIGpharma[/MENTION], do you know if the SW Rocker Trim will allow for front mudflap to be installed? I know I'll have to swap out the LE one for the SR5/TRD one. Wasn't sure if the SW trim has holes drilled for the mudflaps.

Hey, I actually replaced the SW end caps with OEM plastic ones for a better fitment so the flaps would work with the OEM rocker caps but I do not have the metal SW ones anymore and really don’t remember if they had that hole in them, but you can call SW and they can definitely tell you!
Thanks, I ended up going with the oem parts as well.
That looks super clean. Did you cut the plastic with a Dremel like Decipher described, or did you use a different technique? I'm thinking about ordering the Shockworks sliders and just cutting my rockers instead of replacing them. I think I might be the only person on this forum who likes the look of the chrome stripe on the trim.

Could you give me details on your wheels (size and offset) and brand of lift kit you used? My shocks are warn out and its time to address my issue. I saw in other threads where you were talking about changing things up so I wanted to ask you specifically what you ended up going with to achieve the look you have in these pictures.

Thanks. I really loved that truck. I’ve moved on and lifted a Lexus GX460 now but here are the details.
Lift: Bilstein 5100 front and rear shocks. 2.5” front setting. 1.5” daystar rear coil spacer. OEM springs. This was a cheap route to get lift. This was my first lifted truck so I wasn’t sure I’d like it but absolutely fell in love. The Bilsteins perform way beyond their price point. I loved everything about them and I wheeled them hard. That’s what I used. Are there better lifts? Yes. It just depends on your goals but I loved the ride and capabilities of those shocks.
Wheels: Level 8 MK6 17x8.5, -12 offset
Tires: 285/70-17 (33”)
This setup ran with stock upper control arms and required a good amount of plastic trimming especially in the wheel well. No body mount chop needed. Nothing else needed. Hope this helps.

2013 SR5 I just bought. I removed the rocker trim just to see what it would look like. The only part that is noticeable is that rear portion of the front fender.
I know this is an old thread but has anyone found anything cheaper than the Toyota $100 fender caps to cover the bottom of the fronts?
I put my panel back on and will be assessing how to either trim it or just leave it off.

I like the look of your trimmed up rocker panels. You said you mounted them after trimming with 3M tape. does that mean those three brackets that have the 12mm bolts to hold the underside have been cut off as well?
Thanks for the info and I am looking to do this on mine very soon to get rid of that massive panel that came factory.
I got the parts but haven’t gotten them painted yet
Sorry to revive an old thread, but Daytonaviolet, did you get these installed? If so, a couple of questions:
1. How do the old ones come off? Just pry them off?
2. Did you have to order/use any additional parts to install the new fender flares? clips? the attached weather strip/seal?

curious for those of you that have done this mod - does that front end cap really stay on? I've seen a youtube video where it's barely on there. two clips (one in some cases?) and a small screw if you don't use mud flaps? that spot gets filled with snow and nice during the winter and I just use my boots to kick it off, sometimes the ice buildup will break off if I hit a bump. I feel like that front end cap won't stay on there very well during the winter and I don't want mud flaps
the limited OEM rocker panel does hang down a bit low but it's very secure. trimming seems like the best option but that requires some decent dremel skills

did you always run the mudflap? I think the mudflap adds an extra attachment and will block the snow buildup from hitting the rocker. The price to get all those parts in Canada is about $800 from the dealer!

Yep since day one.
However my buddy Mike just gave me a Mudd Flap delete kit.
